Re: Creeper on cub 100 not working

Gerrie, The creeper should not leak. If it does there is a major issue with the units seal(s)/gasket(s). Once you fill it per the filling instructions unless you have serious issues with the unit you will be fine. I always have water in mine due to either the change in temperature of the case or jus...

Re: Creeper on cub 100 not working

If the gears are shot buy another unit. Don't take anyone's word on the new one you buy that it won't leak. Rebuild it or take it to a reputable dealer. I had my first one rebuilt no problem since it was off my grandpa's 71. Then I bought one from a person on another forum who swore it was a non-lea...

J,

I got it and it is spring loaded. I installed it and I'm happy to report that the motor now functions. I believe I'm almost ready for the snow!

J,

I figured the switches were not right. I'm just glad you hade the key to unlock the mystery box here thank you very much. I will give McMaster a call and order the little bugger up ASAP.

Re: MOMENTARY SWITCH WIRING FOR BLOWER ROTATOR...

I'm going nuts here! I tried two different ways of hooking the three post momentary switch up. The first way in the dia. which did not work. For reasons specified I believe in the last reply. Then I tried it as described by delikocc. Still no go! Before I attempted the before said mentioned set up I...

MOMENTARY SWITCH WIRING FOR BLOWER ROTATOR...

Ok, I have my bracket made for my window motor on the blower. I'm ready to start wiring to my momentary switch and the photo attached is the way I believe it should be wired up? Any problems you guys see would be very much appreciated!

Hey Group, I'm starting the conversion from manual to electric chute positioning. I have all the pieces together to start but ran into a question I'm sure someone can answer. I'm going to weld a socket onto the gear which is attached to the window motor. I should be ok connecting my welder ground to...

Well, I picked the 1812 up and even though steering is goofy it’s in pretty good shape. Now all I need is the deluxe cub cadet cab for it and I’ll be set for snow blowing!!!

Are you referring to the stud-cam follower pt number 711-3149? Also, is there a special tool to remove the steering wheel?

1812 steering on a potential purchase...

Hey all, I’m looking at an 1812 and the current owner already replaced the steering column. Now, 10 years later he says he can rotate the steering wheel roughly 360 deg. Before the front wheels turn! I have never screwed with a steering column and I’m wondering what I may be in for? Any ideas on thi...

Re: CAN I USE A 541 ON A 149 OR 169?

No its not that set-up. I saw that one and it looks super clean and honestly would go for it if it had a blower. I don't need the deck, bagger nor plow. In the case of this package having a power blade i'd keep it. But the other stuff is just extra for me.

Well, I found a 1812 with a 450 snowblower and deck. The thing looks really nice and well taken care of. I'm thankful for the heads up from everyone! I'm questioning whether or not the "Cozy Cab" would fit? If it would fit this thing I'll keep my eyes peeled for one. Where we live the wind from the ...

CAN I USE A 541 ON A 149 OR 169?

I passed on an 1864 with a 541 on it. I just can't say enough how much I love my steel bodies. The question is at this point will a 149 OR a 169 power a 541? Maybe there is a better combo for the 541? I just don't like the plastic body’s and would really prefer a steel body. Any help would be greatl...

Ok, I spoke to the owner and he did say it is an 1864 but he put on 1863 panels. He says he has the other panels they were replaced only b/c the stickers were bad. He told me to the power steering is original to the best of his knowledge. Which I’m assuming is std. for the 1864? But, the bracket col...

Re: 1863 i think?

Yeah, I'm a steel guy myself. The 1650 I have with the tiller on was my second "newer style cub". Everything else I've had has been 70s series to my 169. I had a 1863 I believe for awhile but dropped since the plastic was all busted up and it just ended up being a money pit. Do you guys feel the pri...

1650 HYDRO VALVE ASSEMBLY TROUBLES...

Hey All, I tilled the garden with my recent 1650 purchase. When done I was pulling the 1650 in the garage and as I was looking around I saw hydro fluid. After some searching I found that the issue was the left (when sitting on the tractor) hydro valve. there is a small hole at the top which I believ...

Re: 1650 - NEW PURCHASE HYDRO QUESTION & DISBELIEF

Hey All, Ok, dropped the hydro fluid via the rear plate. Dear god I’ve never seen such a mess!!! I’ve changed fluid in at least 10 units already this by far is the WORST! The fluid I suspect is broken down since it is like mashed potatoes on the inside of the rears housing. It was even mashed up aga...

Re: 1650 - NEW PURCHASE HYDRO QUESTION...

Its by no means a museum piece lol! It needs some tlc and I believe it'll be running for years to come. I worried most of the mechanical end of things. I'll grab some shots of it and post. I did grab a hydro filter to do a complete fluids swap. My little guy and I will be doing that later today :) Bri

1650 - NEW PURCHASE HYDRO QUESTION...

Hey All, Well, I made the plunge & purchased my first 1650 for tilling. The only real issue I could see/feel during the look over is the slightly erratic movement when moving the hydro lever. It certainly does not act like my 169! I'm hoping it’s not a HUGE deal. I didn’t think it would be hence the...

Guys,

I appreciate it. Originals to 169s I'm pretty good with since those are the ones I’ve always have had. But, anything else egh not so good with.

Any idea why MTD named Cub what it did when they bought it? Since they renamed it again as just Cub Cadet?
