Re: Johnny Cash type of tractor.....

I bought the tractor from the original owner, he had never had the engine out of the tractor. I went out an pulled the top shield off and took some pictures. While I was out there, I also checked some of my other engine blocks and they were all 12 fin (10, 12, and 14 blocks). I've never seen a 13 fi...

Re: Johnny Cash type of tractor.....

Here is a pic of a 13 fin engine out of a 1650 I use to have, I still have the engine but sold the tractor. My 169 has a 12 fin block in it.

Re: First pull

Saturday was the last pull of the year for the club we pull with. It's been a interesting summer with Calvin learning to drive the puller and with breakage. At first we were underpowered compared to the rest of the tractors in the class. I replaced the 18hp. cam with a reground one and bought a good...

Re: First pull

It's already getting expensive. I don't have much in the 16 stocker he is pulling now, but I have alot in the twin Command that is next. He's worth what ever it takes as he is a great kid who is always on the honor roll and doesn't get into trouble. It's a good hobby for us to do together and he get...

First pull

I finally got a tractor together for my son to start pulling. Friday we hooked it onto the front of a compact loader tractor to help break it in and to let him get use to it. The first time he dumped the clutch and with me not knowing how to weight this tractor, he was really light on the front. It ...

Re: Vredestein tire question

I got some Vredestein (not V61's but some tri ribs) at tiresfromeurope.com.
They had really good prices and were easy to deal with.

Rear pto

I have a guy coming by tomorrow that has a rear pto he wants to get rid of. Does anyone have a part blow-up or list so that I can make sure all the parts are there? Thanks in advance.

Re: Front mount mower

Thanks for the information. I thought it looked like an older Wood's design, but I had never seen a front mounted one. Now I know.

Front mount mower

I did some trading today and this is what I got. I don't know what it is as I can't find a tag. It was mounted on the front of a 147 I traded for. The guy I got it from showed up with the tractor and said it also has a front mounted mower. I figured someone on here maybe able to help me identify it....

Re: 1872 where do I go from here?

Todd, Nope, not tired, ran great with only a little over 500 hrs. on it. I've had quite a few Magnum engines in tractors that ran great like the 1811 to a 1810 that smoked. They all worked hard on that spot in the yard. I'll take a Command any day of the week over a Magnum. The Command uses a lot le...

Re: 1872 where do I go from here?

I don't know about the 18 Command having less torque than the Magnum. I had a 1811 with a 44" deck and in certain area's in my yard the grass would really work the Magnum engine to where I had to slow down through it. I had a 1863 with the Command also with a 44" deck and it would walk right through...

Latest find since the crash

First post for me on the new board, went through a little withdraw being away that long. Here is a picture of my only real find since the crash. It's a CCC 87 rear engine mower. It's in really great shape, I've only got the get the fuel system cleaned out to get it running. My son and I have been lo...
