Re: The boyz
They were a cheap set, Neiko I think. Th e crank is .010 under. Ordered new rod, haven't put it in yet tho. I see what you mean about the digitals. I ended up putting my dial on it. It is a little hard to read, but got the job done.

hydro lever on a 1x9
A friend bought a 129 from me, and when your mowing or going foward, you can feel it speed up. The forward and reverse handle doesn't have much stiffness to it. My 109 is pretty firm. Is this usually caused by the trunion wearing out?

Re: The boyz
Mike the engine ran fine up until the rebuild. It had a ring break so I honed it, new piston, rings and rod. I'm thinking when I rebuilt it, I used a standard rod. My dad rebuilt it 10 years ago and may have had the crank turned. He has dementia now and doesn't remember. I am going to pull it again ...

Re: The boyz
And yes it is still knocking. I've heard of the Kohler knock on rebuilt engines, but this one seems excessive.

Got the boys out the other day. Just rebuilt 1450 #2, but it has a knock. Pulled oil pan, replaced rod again with brand new one. Everything is tight. Going to run it til it blows. Put another K241 on the 109. Found a motor in a mower junk yard for free. It was upside down, on a frame. Cut it out, br...

Yesterday I was running my 1450 wilth the rototiller and the tiller quit. After checking it out, I had found that the wire running to the clutch rubbed and was shorting it out. It did not blow the fuse so I need to check amp on the fuse. My next question is that it quit charging also. Does anyone kn...

Made a weight bar today too!
Made a weight bar out of a 1" weight bar my son had. Added 70lbs. to it and man what a difference. Also added a wig wag flasher to the taillights.

Re: Deck wheels on a snowblower
Ya, I had thought about getting some skid pads from xtreme, but I thought I would try this 1st. I think it will work fine as long as I don't catch em on something.

Re: Deck wheels on a snowblower
Dave, its about a 1/4"-1/2" below the skid shoe. I wanted the skids left on to make it more sturdy. Its up from the cutting edge 1 1/2"-2". Will know more when I get it on the 782.
