I have also enjoyed following your progress. Your attention to detail and skill level is quite impressive, far beyond my abilities, but fun to see a master at work!

Keep them coming and best of luck,

Re: Mini-Tractor

Looks similar to one I talked my dad into buying in the early 70's, it was the cheapest priced one available, I think it was a Huffy. 5 hp, single forward/reverse solid tires. You moved shims on the engine shaft, on top of, or under the blade to adjust the height on it. I found a 3 speed gear box.. ...

They are unique and pricey, I believe someone was making them (parts by Jeff but I didn't see it listed in his thread?), Cub Cadet Specialties has one http://ccspecialties.org/steering_seats.html

Good luck,

Re: shifting fork replacement

I believe you will need to remove the reduction gear housing, unbolt the forks and slide the rods back (comes out where the reduction housing bolts up), slide the rods slowly, there is a poppet ball with a spring under it, be careful, it will fly out if you don't put your finger over it. The service...

Neat find, I love scavenging (with permission), funny what people don't want.

If you Google Parker Plow Co. you will find several useful links, I have one of those wrenches as well.

If you are talking about part #12: http://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-cadet/mowers-lawn-garden-tractor/70-cub-cadet-garden-tractor/clutch/ It has a convex or rounded end that mates and centers it on the concave part of the release lever. I would fork out the $4 for the right one.. ;) Good luck, David

The nut is a 5/8-18 C-Z Low Crown according to the parts diagram, I thought it was a cap nut.

If you want a correct answer to your question, you get it here. FB maybe not. BINGO! There should already be a hole for the rear light, left side of the removable seat support assembly. Don't recall the size, I picked up the grommet at an auto parts store, but the grommet needs to accomodate the thicker support assembly. Since you mentioned seats, I have a question about the hard rubber seat. Last week I picked up a 100 that had that style seat and fenders on it. I didn't think it was correct and he gave me the old pan seat as well. My question is were those seats and fenders optional on the 100 or did someone just...

Re: Nf cub 127 axle pivot bushing

The punches have a "nipple" on the end, it compresses the center of the spiral pin, releasing tension. Just use the 3/16" punch and drive it all the way out (the shaft of the punch will go in the hole as the pin is removed).

Good luck,

The pin should be 3/16 X 1 1/4" and a roll pin punch has made removing them easier for me. For $20 at a bigger Sears store you can pick up a set, or order on line and pick up in a store: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6-pc-roll-pin-punch-set/p-00943167000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 Be sure to g...
