Those days are mostly over, moved on to other hobbies. But hoping to do a little plowing again with this 1450 we just got. Mike

Re: IH Registry Days and Members
Been awhile for my wife and I. We were around in the golden years of the registry. Then life happens and we faded away. But we are going to look at a 1450 tomorrow, our first Cub in years. Maybe make the fall plow day if AW will still have us. Good to see some old friends still around after all thes...

Re: Something followed me home
There is one small tear in the seat cushion but its on the side facing away from the camara, so you cant see it, otherwise it is perfect. Anybody have a decent fiberglass pan to go with it?????? I will be taking it off soon is its very uncomfortable as you have to see on the front edge where the met...

Re: Something followed me home
Thanks Mike, she is gonna get a work out tomorrow, its putting down the white stuff like crazy right now. Looking to see 5 to 9 inches of heavy wet snow tonight. The 105 is fully fueled, battery charged and the charging system is working. Here is a pic of the mower deck, its as nice as the tractor, ...

Something followed me home
Picked up this clean 105 up near North Judson IN yesterday. Didnt have time to do much but unload and stuff it in the garage before my evening engine performance 2 class. Got it cleaned up today since the hose wasnt frozen solid, swapped the mower deck for the ratty snow blade I got with it. They ar...

Could a 12hp 2 cyl Kubota diesel be stuffed in a model 70?
This is probably a question for Kurt, could a 2 cylinder Kutbota 12hp diesel be stuffed into a model 70 and keep it looking fairly stock, still able to mow grass ect? All of the factory diesel tractors are to large for daily use. A smaller tractor with a single or twin cylinder diesel would be perfe...

Re: Hiya from Mikie and Michele
Finaly got the the injector in todays mail, got it installed and after a few teething issues from sitting for years unused it settled down into a nice idle. Ran it for 30min at 1/2 power with the deck engaged then shut it down, changed oil and oil filter, then fired it back up and gave it a work out...

yes it is, and thats funny Vince! I have a buddy here that is nothing but green and he is being a bad influence in my tractor wants! Between his restored 318 and narrow front 112 round fender that I drove all day at Portland last week, the green fever is setting in fast. Mike

Re: Hiya from Mikie and Michele
Do I even want to know what I was the topic of? We hope to make it back to plow day in a couple more years, if they have one near us here in Indiana we might make it. I did make it to the portland swap meet on Thursday. Schooling and lack of funds for gas for long trips, been a couple of rocky years...

Re: Hiya from Mikie and Michele
Paint wont happen till next spring. The hood and grill will be a custom deal on this one. Need to extend the whole hood/grill assembly forward about 5 inches. Looking at using the hood from a B10 as its a bit longer. Still working on the grill part. It will be patterned after the big Allis tractors ...

Re: Hiya from Mikie and Michele
Out here you would think cubs are made of gold, even junkers. Add to that the difficulty of getting a rear mounted tiller opreational as that long belt is NLA from cub. The little Allis is perfect for my yard, parts are cheap and easy to find localy, I have the tiller, 32" mower deck and snow blade ...

Just thought I would drop in and say hi! My wife and I are still around, just not running CC power anymore so I am not on here much. Here is what I am working on now, 1961 Allis Chalmers B1, repowering her with a Petter AC1 diesel engine. Should be the point of first start up tomorrow if my parts co...

Re: Hello,I am a Newbie,I need help on a 1450
I have my 1650 the same way, she will idle right down nice. Hit Ray up for a good used muffler, then when you get it, wire wheel off all the scale and rust/dust ect. Repaint with a flat black high temp paint for exhaust headers. You can find that in the automotive store like Autozone, Advance Auto e...

Re: Hello,I am a Newbie,I need help on a 1450
The new issue MTD mounts are a bit stiffer than the old ones were, but at full RPM it should be fairly smooth if the engine is making the rated 3500-3600 rpm. My 1650 will shake the whole front end at idle, but at full power its pretty darn smooth, but at mid level and just below full power it will ...

Re: Goodyear Terra-Tires
I have been told that car and tractor buffs that display them at shows, use black shoe polish to fill in the side wall cracks and improve the look of original tires on their equipment. I am on the hunt for a nice, with little to no wear, pair of Goodyear ribbed terra tires for the front of my 1650. ...

Re: Goodyear Terra-Tires
Not that I know off, Goodyear sold thier L&G tire molds, to Carslile for the most part. I have seen far worse dry cracking and still holding air. I also have not seen anything like those style tires, either while working at the cub cadet dealership or the tire wholesaler. About the only one they com...

Custom decals
I think it would be cool to have the dash side, hood and side panel decals on my 1650 printed on reflectve material. Would look basicly the same as factory but be reflective at night. Good for winter duties when its dark and dreary outside. Does anybody know someone that can do this affordably? Mike

Re: Cub Cadet Deck Bearings
Those newer 44 and 50 decks are a bit more pricey to rebearing than that! As of last summer when I was still working for the local cub dealership, it ran about $130 per spindle as you have to replace the whole assembly, housing and all. Thats the only way MTD sells them and we dont know for how much...

Re: Mike's new 1650
She does have manual release valves on the hydro. So does my 1250 thats sitting out back waiting its turn to be put back together. I got the front rims repainted during the 60' warm streak we had last week. Once stable warm weather returns, I will finish painting the rest of the tractor. I have it a...

Re: Mike's new 1650
He was big into old Sears Surburbans, has 2 that are totaly restored. But is main hobby is hot rods and garage space is limited. The old cub was stuck outdoors burried in the snow. He had lived in the boonies and needed the big mower deck for his yard, but now he lives in a small country town. He ha...

Re: Mike's new 1650
This one might have to stick around for awhile, I still have my 1250 project tractor to deal with once this one is plow ready. But atleast this one is the right color. Hopefully my new job works out the way we hope it will, it will end the money issues that prevent me from keeping more than one or t...

Mike's new 1650
Here are some pics of my new 1650 I picked up thru a friend for $100! She runs excellent, no issuse with the engine as according to the previous owner, the engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago by one of the local small engine shops. She is in dire need of a fresh seat, paint and decals. The engine c...

Re: K301 cylinder tin -- new style better?
You really need more air flow than a leaf blower can put out. A proper air nozzle on a hose from a compressor tank is really whats needed to blow the grass out of the cooling fins. If you take an air nozzle and stick it up to the various outputs of the cooling tin, while the engine is running, and b...

The Quiet Lines were the best selling line up of Cub Cadets for IH, while the iso mounts are pretty much shot when we find these tractors, one must keep in mind these are over 20 years old for the most part and probably are the original mounts. Years of heat cycling, vibration and being soaked in oi...

Re: tire chains on front tires?
Matt G. is right, turfs work great except in the snow, they get packed with snow and become basicly bald as far as tread goes. Either V61 verderstein's or tri ribs work best for bit in the snow. However some guys like ag tires or whats called Sno Hog's made for walk behind snowblowers. That being sa...

Re: 16hp Vanguard into a 1250
I plan to put the fuel tank under the seat at this time, I dont like the tank up sitting over a hot engine. There is plenty of room for a simple shelf to hold the battery against the console and the engine already has a fuel pump. Next debate is whether to iso mount or have a steal engine plate made...

16hp Vanguard into a 1250
I mocked up the 16hp Vanguard V twin I got from work into my 1250 roller. Engine will fit between the frame rails ok, I am using wood as a motor plate for mock up purposes as I dont have an engine cradle at the moment. Only major issue is going to be fuel tank. The factory set up isnt gonna fit with...
