Re: Diesel Super Aftermarket Fuel filter

Thanks for the suggestion, I agree that many of the manufactures are going back to cartridge filters because of their decreased carbon footprint. I too am an over servicer and I thought for ease of service and cleanup a canister spin-on would be a better choice.

Diesel Super Aftermarket Fuel filter

After many months off of my 1572 project I am finally making my way back to it. So as I am gearing up to improve the existing design, it hit me, what about converting the final fuel filter cartridge with a spin on type fuel filter. Has anyone else pondered this or made this change? If so what did yo...

Re: Driveshaft Help

Thanks for all the infor from the floks who posted replies. After taking the assembly apart it appears that the only really worn out piece is the driveshaft itself where a bolt goes through it and of course the rubber flex discs. Both front and rear adaptors are in good shape just in need of a real ...

Driveshaft Help

I am looking to upgrade my worn out 1572 driveline with the CV style found on the slightly newer models, can anyone suggest the best models to get a complete one from. Second would a drivline setup from a 1641 fit my 1572, taking into the consideration that minor modification would have to be made s...

Re: RV Antifreeze vs. Washerfluid

Mine are loaded with washer fluid because I figure the worst it would if it leaked is kill some grass and not my pets. I do know that the washer fluid is mostly alcohol and can be flammable under the right condition, however I dont plan on burning the tires or racing light to light with it yet. I le...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

The rebuild kits can be purchased from www.countrysalesandservice.com. However I found that they gave me a better price on parts when I spoke to someone on the telephone. 330-683-2500. Plan on ordering a kit soon.

Re: Cub cadet Rears

Yes I understand that there are some hard feelings toward the Al rears but I do believe that the cub cadet engineers had enough faith in them to put them behind a diesel motor. Maybe it was poking and hoping, who knows. But I think with some simple mods/upgrades they can be as dependable as the cast...

Re: Cub cadet Rears

Does anyone know if the center section from an 1810 is the same as the center section for the 1572? According to parts tree they are different part numbers but everything else appears to be the same. I think im also going to purchase some EZ-lock steel thread inserts and upgrade all the bolt holes s...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

Ok, I called a place in Ohio and the cost of a rebuild kit for the Kubota D600 is 797.00 with standard pistons and sleeves, cost for 0.5mm over standard bore with new pistons reusing the existing sleeves 686.00. These are complete kits only. Looks like a total overhaul is in the cards after all. Damn!

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

So I conducted a compression test today on the D600 and the results were less than favorable...... CYL 1: 120 psi CYL 2: 220 psi Kubota: High 450psi, Low 325psi CYL 3: 180 psi I wouldn't expect this for a motor with 2K hours on it, esp a diesel. I did some quick searching on the net and found that i...

So Im still pondering the big switch to a cast iron rear from the Al one currently in my 1572. Tonight on craigslist I found one close to home, so of course I had to go look at it. The guys said it came out of a 682. It was red, had a cast housing but the axle tubes were Al and it appeared to have i...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

The intent of the timer relay and the light is not intended to be used as a "be all end all" when cycling the glow plugs but as something that would still provide the user with some sort of an idication as to when the plugs may be ready. Also to remind the user that with these new aftermarket plugs ...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

The idea is ...

How exciting! Cast Iron Rear Exchange here I come!!!! Some one feel free to shoot me an e-mail. Penn Yan is a little far out, but Torrington is much closer. I'm right near Albany, NY.

Nonetheless, Thanks to everyone who has offered to help either with parts or by posting information.

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

So an update to the plight of the 1572. As I discussed before the dealer I contacted said 6K hours before the possibility of needing a rebuild (good news). He also said that the motor would more than outlast that tractor by about 2K hours, he seems to be very right about that too. However, despite h...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

According to my local dealer this motor should be able to easily get to 6000 hours before needing any mojor service. So I guess ill break out the pressure washer some Kubota colored spray paint and have at it.

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s

From the couple of hours I ran it before tearing the tractor apart I changed the oil and put a brand new purolator gold filter on it. It did not hard start, consume any oil, blow blue smoke or leak excessively from any area that I could see. The oil looked the normal dark color and did not appear to...

Kubota D600 ?'s

This is my second inquiry on this thred thus far. I have a cub 1572 with the Kubota D600 diesel in it. Here are my questions.... 1. At what interval should the motor be torn down and rebuilt? My current machine shows 2072.0 hours on the meter, but I have no idea of it's previous service history. 2. ...

For the little bit I ran my 1572 before starting the disassembly it never over heated, just that crappy rock hard bottom hose leaked and the radiator is in need of a re-coring. This may be a little late, But if you have a harbor freight store near you, its possible to pick up one of thier cabinets on sale for a reasonable price with the extended service warranty and trade it in every 20 months prior to the warranty running out. Diesel Cooling Systems ?'s

Hi, Im new to the forums, but have looked at them many times for some good advice. My 1572 is in di...
