Re: 129 Engine Repair Help Needed

I think I agree with Big Mike. When pan comes off look carefully at rod and crank for contact marks. It appears to me that block took a heavy hit from something in its life. Not that I don't agree with the post about sleeving, I just think this is impact related this time... No matter what caused it...

Re: E-Z Rake Dethatcher

Paul I didnt watch the Vidieo but he trying to tell ou that the "Crosby" cable clamp is on back wards. Put the saddle on the live side of the cable not the dead end.... Sorry, I didn't explain. Joe is spot on. The theory gets into the concept that the saddle of the clamp grips the thin wires...

I know that nobody will get hurt if your cable clamp fails, but I noticed that you "saddled a dead horse" In the construction trade we NEVER "saddle a dead horse"

Thanks fellas. Turns out it has the automatic unloaders. Got it in the far barn as planned, old pans was a great idea, brakes were kinda rusty so my wife rode while pushing on pedal. Have the engine out (sheet metal was full of MR Mouse and his relatives) Needed to get down to the motor mounts anywa...

Question about Hydro unloading valves ?

I am working on a 1650, currently not running. It has the decal on the side of the transmission cover indicating not to move or tow. It has a hole near that for the lever to release pressure. No lever? Upon removing the tunnel cover, doesn't look like any missing pieces? How can I tell if this has t...

Re: Introduce myself and my 1282

Welcome to the fun :!: The boys have given you good advice. I have a 682 converted to 782 with a 17hp Kohler and am very pleased with it for mowing and pulling a 12'" single bottom, plenty of power. I also picked up a 1282 couple years back and haven't done much with it to date, probably will switch...

Re: 982 three point question ?

Wow ! Thanks for all the info. Admittedly I didn't know about the Ruegg at all, guess my search was weak. I'm still waffling quite a bit on purchasing the 982 in question. It is a fair price (I think, its just a little out of my comfort range currently)I don't need a 982 I just have wanted one ever ...

982 three point question ?

So what is required to add three-point to a 982 other than the arms and such that are several hundred dollars everywhere I looked. Extreme's looked nice, pricey but nice. ( Everything I've gotten from them has been top drawer so I can swallow the price when I need something.) I'm asking about the hy...

Re: Rear rim question on "O"s ?

Hey Jess, Yep, the question started here because Jim saw some photos in Cadet Connection Spring 2014 were Martin Miller of NY had two early "O"s that clearly show the narrow slots, yet other photos he has seen seem to show some narrow and some wider slots on supposed 1st year "O"s in other books or ...

Rear rim question on "O"s ?

I've got a lot of time on my hands right now recovering from eye re-construction surgery and this question keeps rattling around in my head. It is my understanding that the early "O"s had a tighter spacing rim to hub slots. My fingers don't really fit thru vs later rim slots fingers slip thru pretty...
