Re: 1572 rear end

Off topic I got the fuel leak fixed today, new grommets for the tank, valve, and fuel line. Put it back together and figured a quick wash was in order.

Re: 1572 rear end

Sam, thanks for helping Dave out on his rear bracket/braces.....but the way I see this, it all could have been avoided if u would have designed some instructions to go along w said braces! I mean come on....even Chinese hardware gives u a piece of paper. Although maybe u should have your lega...

Re: 1572 rear end

Dave Glad to help. Let me know how it feels once you get time to run it. Cut the grass with it after work today and it feels great. It honestly feels better than prior to the mount breaking. So I am happy. Rear is leak free also.. Now the ---- fuel tank has a leak at the valve on the bottom....

Re: 1572 rear end

Do you have a pic of the side of your frame without the brace bolted to it? Just looked at more pics of the 72 series and the bolt that is behind the fender on the Cyclops is in front of the fender on a 72 series. Pic is from a 1572, the bolt is circled in red. This is where the slotted part of the...

Re: 1572 rear end

Thanks for the tip. I am hoping to get the first one right within a year, then getting the 2nd surgery done. Proof that lifting weights while out to sea is not a good idea! Hit rough waters while I was working out and the rest is history....

Re: 1572 rear end

It is strange that mine doesn't have the holes. I may just drill the 1/2 inch through the frame on both sides and leave it as is. I am scheduled for surgery in may, so trying to get this done prior too. Although I think it will be fine as is. the braces really beef up the setup. Cub should of done s...

Re: 1572 rear end

Yes a 1572. My tractor does not have the holes required to install the bracket the way in your picture. I flipped the bracket every which way prior to install. Also I noticed one of my holes was slotted where yours was not. I do not have a hole close to the fender as the one in your picture does wit...

I didn't want to drill any new holes in the tractor. Either way it seems very solid and I expect it will work fine.

Re: 1572 rear end

My impatience got the best of me today. I decided to just but it all together with the brace kit and see how it does. I only cut grass with it... The brace kit is very nice! However it would have been nice if I didn't need to drill two holes in each bracket. So my paint job got scratched up. I am go...

Re: 1572 rear end

Dave, what I see in the pic is he did not have much luck because he did not put much effort into the repair. BigMike, I was kind of surprised how quickly he gave up. It was very windy and cold and we were attempting it in the driveway. I did offer to move the car out of the other side of the garage...

Re: 1572 rear end

Dave As a test I pulled the bolts out of the front mount on a 2182 with a 60" Haban under it that I had installed the brace's on. and didn't notice any twist. I even ran 1 front wheel up on a ramp to see if it would cause the frame to twist. Solid as a rock. The frames on the Supers tend to twist b...

Re: 1572 rear end

I am honestly thinking of putting it all together with the new braces without that one front mount. If it doesn't feel right I can always do it over as it does not take very long to drop the rear out of it.

Howard,

I have to say the starter upgrade is a great choice! No more searching for a special battery with the power to start the tractor. Even with a cheap battery now it turns the engine over so fast it has no choice but to start lol...

Re: 1572 rear end

I pretty much outlined the whole process in the "Cinderella thread" which can be found here: http://www.cubcadetcollectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5282&start=150 As part of the job I built my own braces, as others have done as well. :?: Tom, That was a good read for sure! How is the sealant h...

Re: 1572 rear end

Re: 1572 rear end

One thing I did find during my issues. I always cut grass at full throttle. Well once all the vibrations started I was cutting just a little over idle to keep them at bay. I found that the diesel is able to cut at much lower RPM than a gas engine and still do a great job. This will save me fuel in t...

Just hoping I can put the extreme...

I was under the thought that I could just leave the front mount broken off. That the new braces would make up for it? I didn't want to get into sourcing another housing and swapping them out, thoughts? Thanks

1572 rear end

My 1572 was vibrating excessively when I just rebuilt the drive shaft a little over a year ago. After looking everything over I found the front mount for the transmission broken. I have already ordered the brace kit from Extreme. However I wanted to have the front mount welded back on also. Has anyo...
