I'm needing a spring assist spring for a cub cadet Original, does anyone know of a good resource? CCS didn't have anything listed. I have both brackets and washer just missing the spring.

Re: K181 connecting rods
So the rod from a 161 and a 181 are interchangeable is what I gather from this, correct? A friend of mine was rebuilding one recently and we never did really get this figured out.

Restoration on the O has begun, as you can see I've added a few goodies to it and my old buddy down in Russelville AL is doing a great job of painting it and putting it together! image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg The fenders and the 3point were intended for my 62' O' that's stil...

Re: A "followed me home" thread! Caution: one ugly Cub Cadet
Yep, my old buddy Tim said the surprising thing was once he got the thing cleaned up a little and cranked it the engine ran well and did not smoke or anything. He's really into the restoration thing, he's coming Saturday to get the O that I picked up last Monday and is gonna do a full restoration on...

Re: A "followed me home" thread! Caution: one ugly Cub Cadet
Hey y'all, the "one ugly Cub Cadet" 102 I started this thread on, well I traded it to a buddy of mine. He has a granddaughter on the way, due in May so he has CC's for all of his grand son's and wanted one for his grand daughter soooooo here is what he did with my "ugly" 102 after he got it. 102.JPG...

Re: OOOriginal
Okay, so I didn't have the best week last week as far as "purty" cubs but I capped it off with this 124 with a good fiberglass pan for the seat (now to find someone to recover) a creeper gear and headlight panel (with no bulbs) with "custom grills" inside where the bulbs go. This one is one of my fa...

Somewhere around a July August 61 production date on it. Got a buddy that does some really good restoration work and I have something he wants really bad, like the first O he restored so we are in "negotiation" LOL. Actually he's so into this he's begging me to bring it to him, but I have a few thin...

Re: Tire Question
When I purchased my 1965 100 in 1985 it had the narrow wheels exactly as you show fitted with tires just like that as well. They were made by Armstrong and were very dried out. I could only assume that it came that way. They were sold off at a swap meet and the guy seemed very eager to get his hand...

Tire Question
I've been wondering about this and it may have already been answered but I can't find it on here. Were Ag's an option for the tires on early Cub Cadets like the 100? I'm picking up one Saturday that's a really solid looking old 100 and the guy bought it from the original owner and says they told him...

Re: Got it Vince!! (new to me piece of equipment)
Great find Tim. Looks like a complete 402E other than the rear tube and mount and the front axle straps. With a bit of fab work you can hang that under the newer tractors easily. You don't need to modify the Haban either. Just a mower mule drive to make a front mount out of. Actually got everything...

Got it running pretty good now just need to get the throttle/idle set and she's in great shape. A new kohler polnts and condenser set did the trick! (and the correct point gap setting)

Re: I Gotta Stop Bringing
I'll try that Joe, I adjusted them but not sure if I got it right. Also, while we're on the subject, what are the chances the push rod to the points needs replacing and what should it measure as far as overall length? I'm guessing the points should be set around maybe .025??

Re: I Gotta Stop Bringing
Just need a few ideas, this one and a 102 have, got to where they both crank up easy enough but both start backfiring after they are warmed up. I replaced the head gasket on the 102 and still doing the same so not going to go that route on the 104. Any ideas what to check next or change out both hav...

Re: I Gotta Stop Bringing
Wow.....nice clean unit. If the price was right I would bring that home too! Although it may have to sit outside. That's the problem Dave, I have an OCD'ism about leaving good equipment outside and I'm out of indoor storage. So..........really, I've got to stop bringing them home. Unless I ru...

Yep, gonna either do a rebuild or maybe replace the engine if I run across the correct replacement. I don't think this one needs much though it's smoking pretty bad and fouling the left plug pretty bad, the right is burning clean? But man this thing is nice to cut with!!! Makes me ALMOST want to sel...

Nope, my buddy's in Boston for a couple of weeks working on some bridge parts they milled in Haleyville and sent by sea barge up to Boston. Seems it got caught in the Hurricane and the saltwater did a number on those 200 ton parts they were shipping. I guess they are just glad nothing got lost at se...

Re: A "followed me home" thread! Caution: one ugly Cub Cadet
Yep, think I will Ed, I have one 102 already that is in real nice original shape. I'm working on a trade on a Haban Cycle mower and would like to get this one in nice shape and put the Haban on it. I have several in "moth balls" waiting on when I retire or at least slow my work schedule down some bu...

Picked up this little ugly monster this morning. I guess working 2nd shift does have some advantages. It's a 102. Mostly complete, missing gas tank.
