Ken Think of it this way, we could have all gone to your memorial! I recently lost my father this way, do what they say and keep up with the diet and exercise as prescribed. Best you go north Sunday and find a nice spot to sleep in the car! I was in SW CT, I didn’t feel a thing and kept Working unti...

How did you fair in the latest spring storm? Just 2” of slush at my house and it’s mostly gone 24 hours later.

The fair grounds are about 2 miles off exit 232. Well worth stopping in! I’m sure there are going to be several faces you have meet over the years in attendance!

The inside steel part of the dash will accommodate the second valve. You will need to cut the plastic part to fit it in.

Re: Hydraulic plow
Yes you can! You would need to start by finding a second valve body for the cyclops series, ideally this has the handle and linkage. The 2 valves get stacked between them you would need a short nipple, as of last spring these where still available from cub/MTD. I’m not sure but I believe the lines a...

It’s not so much newer, it something with better support. Older Deere Kubota and new Holland all should have support for equipment if this era. I believe that mahindra or built your tractor.

Re: 782 Choke Knob & Cable Problem
Just a warning I skimmed the last few posts….
Unplug the engine from the tractor!
Attempt to start engine, provided you don’t un-wire the starter it will crank over. This will let you oinow if it’s coil or tractor.
My vote is a key switch issue

Re: 782 Choke Knob & Cable Problem
I would compare the schematic for the 782 and your harness. If someone changed the harness with the engine and key switch then order a switch from a 1811. If they added a relay to your harness, then use the switch you already bought. I believe the ch18 has a white wire going to the coils, unplug the...

I’m Not sure who made the 7000’s and 6000’s for Cub. Either way they might still have it under their part number. If not, try to find a machine shop that could make them for both of you! My father did this for a 70’s vintage yanmar he has, it seams he has the ultra rare “heavy duty” front end….

Re: 782 Choke Knob & Cable Problem
The spinning sound is probably the starter spinning but the gear not engaging the flywheel. My 1882 does this. The starter really should come out and get some dry lube on it. That’s a project though as the engine needs to come out for this.

Re: 1970 model 147 now leaks Hy-Tran oil since changing it.
I’ve seen bad cork gaskets and broke pick up tubes. Pick up tubes can be cut out and the 2 part ones can be installed in chassis, or the big loopy one would need to be done on the bench.

If you want parts, Spindles etc let me
Know I can flat rate them up. Nice job on the blades. I prefer to use the chop saw then sharpen and balance.

Looking good!
I’ve done the same with blades, new sure to balance them after you trim them down, they can be out if you don’t cut perfect!

Yes, all the spindles from the 38/42/44/50 will interchange! In some cases you need to add or remove washers to get the blade heights correct. I recommend using the older cast iron type over the newer cast aluminum. Personally I would never rebuild a stamped steel spindle like you have pictured. I R...

Make that a permanent swap! Those spindles are pricey new and can’t be rebuilt, the older decks with cast iron spindles are the way to go as a direct replacement. I saw your son briefly but missed you. I hope all is well!

Someone is still using galvanized buckets! It seams most here are using lines back to a larger barrel. If it’s a single remote tree, then new TSC food grade buckets seam to be the norm.

Tom Thanks for the move! Yes, you are correct, the driveshaft would need to move with the engine. Each of the 3 engines used a different driveshaft. It also should be noted that the these engines where used in generators, both large mobile and smaller whole house generators be sure to watch your cra...
