Re: New-to-me 1872 starting issues
I would start at the beginning of the fuel system first. The petcock on the fuel tank has a screen on it that can and will get plugged up. The petcock just pulls straight out of the rubber grommet. I would check that first and install a inline fuel filter when I put it back together. After I made su...

I don't know how typical it is, but a buddy of mine has a 3205 and was pulling a very heavy roller with it. All the stress caused a seal to blow out of the rearend. So you might not want to stress it too hard.

You can also vent the rear end by just removing a relief valve.

Re: Not a cub, but a pretty cool tractor
It's been for sale ever since the weekend. The guys on the Colt forums are the biggest bunch of assholes i've seen. One guy had me so pissed I almost put a axe through the hood of it and posted a pic. I figured the best way to get even would be to part it out. If I lose money on it, I don't really c...

Re: Not a cub, but a pretty cool tractor
I was thinking of pissing off the Case/Colt/Ingersoll guys and painting it red and make it look something like a miniture IH 560 or something similar.

1966 Colt 2712
Do to the assholes on the Colt site, I have decided to get rid of this cursed tractor. I am willing to sell it whole or parted out. It has hydraulic lift, a 44" deck, a extra K241 block with a crank to fit a Case/Colt. Sheet metal is in great shape, just the wrong color. PO said it ran but had carb ...

Re: Not a cub, but a pretty cool tractor
You had better watch what you say about repowering that tractor! I can tell you don't hang out in the Case, Colt, Ingersoll forum. Just mentioning that might get you banned for life. I got ripped on for suggesting that I might get some of the parts powdercoated because it didn't come from the factor...

I already found that forum Cal but thanks for the info.
As far as implements, It only came with a 44" deck.

Not a cub, but a pretty cool tractor
This showed up at my house today. It's a 1966 Colt 2712. It seems to be a pretty cool tractor. Hydraulic drive and lift. Only bummer is the pos Tecumseh engine. It also came with a Kohler but it's not complete and blown up. AJ http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt222/magicalzjx/20121202_140607.jpg

Re: 1912 cub
I don't think they ever made a 986 with a 986 decal on the hood. I believe the 986 was nothing more than a number on the serial number plate to showed that a 982 had all options. My 982 has 986 on the serial number plate but 982 o nthe hood. I know of another Yellow and White 982 that is the same wa...

I think one of those plates will fit into a large flat rate box at the post office. I'm sure I have 1 or 3 extras laying around. You can have one for postage if you want one. Just send me a PM with your address.

Finally got my 482 done
I finally my 482 done. I picked it up a couple of years ago from Jess Laws. It was in pretty bad shape. Luckily, over this past weekend I picked up a 682 roller from Rick Harris and I managed to put together the 482 with the 682 frame as a basis. I just got it finished tonight and now it's ready to ...

Are you taking about the bracket that bolts to the frame and holds the upper casting on a 1x6/1x7?

Re: Questions about 42" snowblade lift brkt.
I made one for my 582 and I didn't put a bend in it and it clears everything. I took a length of 5/8" rod and welded a 5/8" clevis pin on each end. I worked great the last winter that we had snow!

Re: Super vs. WF undercarriages
Kevin, look under the manuals and you should find the manual for the "C" decks. In the manual I have, it shows how to set up the undercarriage for a super. You will probably have to make a belt guide for it though. If the manual on this site doesn't tell you what you need, send me you email address ...

Jess while you are in the engine, I would recommend changing the rods out for the new style without holes. I keep hearing of those things breaking. They might be tough to find though.
