Re: 1863 donar for 1872
Easy swap, get a drive shaft from a 2084 or 2284, Call Weaver for the shaft. You should be able to reuse your PTO from the Mag. Use the motor plate from the 1863, it will be a bolt in swap. Remove the throttle stop screw on the carb and you'll pick up about 2 HP. Jeff in PA makes pump adapters so th...

What Tom said. Also the pins on the side panels are important to help support the grill. These guys seem to have the best prices lately.

NAPA 1410, Wix 51410 or Cub filter. I use NAPA1410 filters. Just had a guy with the same problem, he had an engine oil filter on his. It would move but no lift. Changed the filter and all good now. Engine oil filters have an anti drain back valve and the charge pumps have trouble overcoming the rest...

Re: vanguard breather
Jim I still think you have a head gasket issue. I've had 2 of them that ran just fine but puked oil out of the breather into the air filter. One was so bad that it would flood the engine. Just far a test I ran a hose from the breather to a catch can. That said I suggest that you contact Vanguard cus...

They look like a late Cyclops. That's the retro fit kit. If you already have that style bulb you can buy just the grill. Also you can get them for less $$$.Ernest wrote:What do they look like installed?

From everything that has been done and the fact that he has changed the pump the only thing I can think of is that the suction tube may be plugged. As some of you know I hang out on OCC, we had this happen to one guy a while back. Turned out to be a paper towel that got sucked into the tube. I know ...

What are you using for a filter? I've seen a few that had the same problem caused by the owner using the wrong filter. Cub filter, Napa 1410 or Wix 51410 are my go to filters.

1641 has a Hydro gear pump, 1864 has a Sundstrand. The Hydro Gear charge pump as far as I know is not big enough to support PS.

Re: 1863 i think?
1863 and 1864 are not identical tractors. 1863 has the Hydrogear pump and the 1864 has the Sundstrand pump along with PS. Aluminum rear is for all intents the same as the later 782's. They are not as susceptible to breakage as the Supers but even at that a set of GT braces from Xtreme will beef them...

Re: 1863 i think?
Get the numbers off the tag on the side of the frame. Couple things look odd on this one, if it is an 1863 someone added power steering (PS mount being white is odd). Don't think it's an 1862 because it has the late style large filler gas tank and fender pan, it also has late style side panels with ...
