Re: An end to this and other tractor hobbies.

Exactly why I no longer have ANY cub parts for sale. The cost of doing business was way too high so I am now a former Collector. Have 4 items left and when they are gone I will be history to a former fun hobby. Everybody needs to do a little history reading about the rise and fall of the 3rd Reich! ...

Re: Scary happening

The bearing is actually held in place by the large washer and bolt in the end of the PTO shaft. Mine was tight on the 3 raised surfaces that hold the bearing. THe only thing that actually happen is the clearance could change if the armature shifted on the bearing. When it is engaged everything runs ...

Re: Scary happening

Got my bearings today. (ordered 2 just in case) Fit like a glove. Came from KBC with several part numbers 6007ddcsg14 on a sticker and the box has 6206ZZ C3G14. The inside collar fit perfectly and the bearing fit the armature. Back together and working again. This was a 2072 so no info regarding 1872.

Re: Scary happening

I can answer my own question...
www.ussander.com/info/?type=help&help=bearings Has the exact bearing. It is Metric sealed bearing No. 6007 and it sells for a little over $10.

The company deals with heavy duty floor sanders so I suspect the bearing will be able to stand up to the Cub PTO needs.

Was working on the height adjustment for the deck on my 2072. Had the engine idling so I could operate the hydraulics and check the height. All of a sudden the deck engages! Re: M18 vs. M20 question

Jess and BB are both right on. Both Magnums usually run very smooth. I have had a lot of both and it is hard to tell apart even on power. BB is right about the carbs. If the carb is not right it will cause a lot of trouble. I have had a tiny piece of lint in the jet of the carb and it will run like ...

Re: Private Cub Cadet collection auction

Paul;;; I'd bet the opposite.....unless there are a lot of buyers there, prices will be low. I had nearly that much in my hey day but could not get close to what I considered they were worth. I have sold between $10 and $15000 in tractors and parts in the last three months but had to give a lot away...

IF YOU WANT TO RUIN THE DIESEL USE ETHER!!!!!! I have seen what happens when ether is used with glow plugs.....just like a bomb It will ruin the rings instantly! NO ETHER WITH GLOW PLUGS PERIOD! Non glow plug diesels can handle small amounts of ether. Look at some of the International tractors and y...

Every 1782 I have had or been around will over heat. Flushed, changed thermostat, blew out radiator, run without side panels and it still overheated.
The radiator is in the wrong place!

I still have one that I have tried for years to sell. Am now going to part it out!

Tired of tire kickers.

That surprises me....I would have thought you would have recognized the name... The father of the SKS first and then the AK47.
The SKS came about during WWII but if you look deep, you will find that he had a lot to do with a lot of guns designs.

He has an interesting history.

I was not encouraging that...I used to have a shed that had a basement and it was perfect for that.... Actually any cool place will work. Storing it in a shed that gets hot in the summer will cause it to break down much quicker...even if it is sealed. One of my pet dumb things is the service station...

If you cut it with anything that has ethanol in it you are back to the same rotten fuel problem.
