Re: 782d won't start
Tony, BigMike brought up a good point. When I had put up the 250 compression number I was just throwing a random number up for comparison purposes. I got to work today to look up the actual number: 412-469 PSI on a D600 Kubota. Obviously now your 350 guage will not work on this engine (or it will be...

Re: 782d won't start
Tony, Welcome! As far as your engine problems, I'll give you my two cents (for what it's worth). First thing I would do is a compression check thru your glow plug holes. Some auto parts stores will let you rent one or borrow one from a friend. Check compression in each cylinder and compare results. ...

Re: 782D Exhaust Manifold Coming Apart
Sorry I'm late to the party here guys... I agree with Big Mike, welding a nut a size bigger to what's left of the stud is the best way to get the stud out. I do this almost daily at work as the guys seem to think I have the best luck at it. The welding will heat the stud up enough to get it loose, i...

Tom, Thanks for the heads up, I know all about being clean, I build engines for a living. What kind of shim stock are you talking about? Does it come in the kit or something I need to pick up? Like just metal shim stock in different thicknesses? I've never had one apart before. I picked up a used co...

Boy Joe...that picture brings back some memories! John,
From what I can tell from the break down the part number is #475-698-R91. I would think any good bearing supply house would have them on the shelf. There's a guy on epay that has them listed for sale as well.
Michael

Albie, your suppose to have an account to order parts from them. I am one of the few new england kubota dealers. They probably would of transfered you to me anyways...haha. Re: kohler governer
Your Governor Cross Shaft Assy's spot weld broke and fell to the bottom of the block. You have to remove the old shaft and replace it with a good used one. I personaly would strip the engine down, replace the cross shaft and install a new governor while you are their. The only extra cost you will ha...

Just so you guy know, he's going to offer the puller by itself. That will save some money and it also won't be polished. He figures some guys will have a harmonic balancer puller in the drawer like Matt. This is just one of those tools that has been along time coming for alot of collectors. Jim's go...

I also worked with Jim on this as the R & D Department and this thing works great! I pulled 6 different steering wheels on 3 different series and they all came off without a hitch. No damage to the wheel or the treads on the shaft. I already put my order in. Worth Every Penny!

Re: Cylinder de glaze
Cylinder bores on a Mag 20 are 3.125", so a 3.500" ball hone will work great. Make sure you spray the cylinders down with a penatrating liquid i.e. WD-40 or PB Blaster, continue to lightly spray as you hone. Keep a constant back and forth motion in the bore and leave the hone cranking til it is comp...
