Re: There's always something in this hobby you don't have

Kevin, That mower is really an old Lawnboy. There is a guy in Tennessee who can fix those blindfolded! I have known Jim for over forty years and I know he would love to get that running, and running well for you. I think he is about the only one I would trust to overhaul the Kohler in my tractor. He...

Re: Vince, this QL followed me home

I don't know why Vince doesn't like a Quietline. I think they are a sweet tractor.

I hope there will be a 1200 in my future someday.

Re: New to me 1250's (maybe)

I would advise to get them. Please let us know how you made out. The 16 horsepower engine is a good find.

Re: Cub Cadet Music

I have always been fond of Mozart for background music. There are also great Beethoven pieces that can fit well into a slide show.

Re: New to me 1250's (maybe)

As Vince says, if you can get them for less, do it, but I would pay that price for two. I have a 1250 and affectionally call it the nightmare, but it is a very nice tractor, and for being my first and probably last Cub Cadet, I could not have made a better choice. I very much enjoy my evening rides ...

Re: paint

A midwest company called Fleet Farm carries Valspar. I rattle caned the white on my 1250 nightmare, and it turned out pretty well using Valspar spray paint. With the results that I had using the rattle can as a stop gap, I will be happy to use Valspar to paint my tractor for real next year. Here is ...

Re: QL engine cradle upgrade

I bought a scrap oil pan when I did my modification, and told the welding shop that the placement of everything was critical when they welded in the spacer bar. I used OEM ISO mounts and everything lined up perfectly. I had to move the motor very little when threading up the bolts to put everything ...

Re: Dealer Decal

I'd like to see a way where we can add a dealer decal to our favorite machines. I would like to add the name or the local dealer in the town in which I grew up. Others would like to manufacture a dealer name to fit their fleet or machine. Is that kind of service available somewhere, where a blank de...
