Re: Everyone sould have a 100....
Craig, It has lived within 20 miles of where the IH plant was, all of it's life. Now it lives about half that distance from where the IH plant was, and the selling dealer was less than 5 miles from the IH plant, but the plant and selling dealer no longer exist.

Re: Everyone sould have a 100....
I have owned several 70/100's over the years, and some of them were custom's (Orchard, High clear, cultivision, etc) and always said I would always have a 100 or if I didn't I knew where one was for sale. When I sold the last one I had, the one I knew of for sale at that time turned out the owner th...

Everyone sould have a 100....
This one got in my truck yesterday. Was built in June 1964, and was bought new and owned by the same family until I bought it. The second seat was to give grandchildren a ride (not while mowing I hope)

Re: Cub hauling trailer
Cal, I do not have a powder coated trailer, but have other stuff that is powder coated, and I don't like it. The powder coated stuff will scratch and chip, specially on something like a trailer (or newer model Cub Cadet and decks) that can get some heavy use. IMO it is easier to touch up a painted s...

Must be a "Yellow fever" thing.......
But this is the third time(I think)I have owned this 129, and I don't even like hydro's or wide frames  It was originally sold by a CC dealer in Lexington, KY( Lonnies Tractor Sales), to whom, I do not know. Tim Wheaton put me in contact with Lonnie and took me to see CC S/N 510 that Lonnie ha...

Re: CCC built 782 driveline picture
Tom There is probably room for longer bolts, but another problem could be in pinning the two couplings to their respective shafts with the thicker rags between them, if I can't gain a 1/8" or so on the motor plate to move the driveshaft forward.. Oak, thank you.....I think :) dag1450 So far I'll tak...

Re: CCC built 782 driveline picture
Thank you Tom, that is what I needed, and that is the way I have the bolts I believe, I'll have to check them again when the temp goes up a bit. I had to work out in the heat and cold on an Air Force flightlinefor a lot of years, I don't have to work in those temps now, AND DON"T

CCC built 782 driveline picture
Can someone post a good clear picture (from the top with the tunnel cover off) of the rear rag joint and bolts of the driveshaft couplings on 782 (CCC built 1984 if it makes a difference). I bought one of these (should have stayed with the IH narrow frame models) and the rear rag joints were missing...

Nice load Jess. If you had stopped by here, you could have added a 149 to that load. I been trying to get rid of my Cub Cadets and was down to 2, but the Cub Cadet fairy or someone has been stopping by my house the last few days, and now I'm back up to 7, with one of them being red............

Re: Up a creek without a paddle & Tiffen finds .
I hope so. my salesman said he sold a 5.3 to a friend of his and he tows a 24' enclosed trailer with it with no problem, but I keep thinking of the old "hot rodders" adage that says "there ain't no substitute for cubic inches............unless it is cubic money" :) Actually looking at the horsepower...

Re: Up a creek without a paddle & Tiffen finds .
Merk The 6.0 is only available in the 2500 and 3500 trucks, and is the only gas engine available in them. This one is a 2015, 1500 LTZ and has a 5.3L engine. There is a 6.2L available in certain 1500 models, but it requires 91 octane or higher gas, according to the owners manual. Buying one at the e...

Re: Up a creek without a paddle & Tiffen finds .
Thank you Cal.
Don't know how it's going to be hauling a trailer around. It has a "Max Towing" package, but just a 5.3L engine rather than the 6.2L (that requires 91 plus octane gas). It's rated to tow 11K with the 5.3 and 3.73 gears (that may be down hill or on flat ground) We'll see.

Re: Refresh my mind please
Vince At half throttle, voltage should be 13 to 14.5 volts. If it is 12.5 or less ground the F terminal and if the voltage goes up the problem is probably the regulator. A good trouble shooting guide can be found here on the Simplicity/ AC site. http://www.simpletractors.com/service/electrics/starte...

You can't find a GOOD one
I shouldn't say that, everyone has their own idea about which is best, even the Cummins fan that will swear he didn't buy a Dodge, but bought a Cummins and the Dodge came with it. Enough said.

Jess, you got enough truck..........if you don't fill the trailer up  I am looking at a new truck and will probably go back to a 1500 and a smaller trailer. We only go to a couple of shows a year anymore, and I don't have as many CC's as I had, so I only need to haul momma's golf cart and a cou...

Jess, I am thinking about getting rid of my 22 foot flat Corn-Pro utility trailer. It is a 2007, has torsion axles, 8 lug wheel, 12" brakes (both axles) and 30 "D ring tiedowns on the deck, each anchored to a cross member. You can tie down about anything you want. It will hold several CC's, but a Fa...

I have been around Cub Cadets (mostly IH built) for a number of years, and have owned more than I can remember, from a prototype, to a test unit,to a pre production model, to at least one of most of the production models, to CCC built z-turn, to one of the current XT3 CS model tractors. The last two...

I bought a new XT3 GS and it does not have a locking differential, nor does the XT3 GSE, according to the XT brochure, but the XT2 LX46 fabricated deck and the XT2 LX54 fabricated deck has an auto locking diff, and the XT3 GSX has a manual locking diff.
