Dave, I seem to remember using an old wheel bearing to replace a missing grommet
in the steering column. IIRC.

Good question... Never thought about it before.
I would think less.
Closing the gap would make the engine fire earlier
before TDC thereby advancing the spark?????

I once stopped the kohler in my neighbors lawn tractor from heavy smoking by running a healthy dose
of MMO through the gas tank.
I'm thinking it may have been a sticking piston ring (or somesuch).

I wasn't aware of that.
I bought a can of Cub Cadet Yellow a week or so ago without looking at it.
Just saw it is by Yenkin Majestic Paint Corp in Columbus, OH.
I haven't used it yet... also waiting for weather to warm a bit.

Tractor Supply also sells the Valspar tractor & implement paints for a reasonable cost.
I've used some of them and was satisfied with the results.
Keep in mind I don't do restorations and am somewhat easily appeased.

I used a pair of old trampoline springs on mine.
