Re: Chunk of metal in the oil
I got the head off the K301 that was blowing smoke and had that little chunk of metal in the oil. Here's how the cylinder wall looks. I can see something, I can't feel it with my fingernail but maybe a little bit with a pick. Bad? (The orange you see is RTV sealant that the DPO used on both sides of...

Chunk of metal in the oil
CC 125 has been blowing blue smoke out the breather vent. Checked it; it wasn't upside down. Drained the oil, it was black and this piece of metal was on the magnetic drain plug. Can anyone identify it?

Re: 129 Carb Gaskets ?
I had the same experience -- old inlet valve was 3/8" and I had a small socket turned down so it'd fit in; new kit's valve was 10mm and nothing would fit to screw it in. Used the gaskets, stopped the leak.

Re: Who's ready for Winter?
Over the years I've tried various combinations. One time I thought ag tires would be sufficient -- weren't. Put chains on them -- still not good. Ended up with turf tires with 2-link chains, and weight: 100 pounds of wheel weights on each rear tire and 100 on the rear bracket. Been using these for s...

ATV tires didn't work well at all, went back to turfs with 2 link chains, they're super.

125 neutral/brake pedal won't come back up
On a recently acquired 125. I greased the shaft underneath and changed the spring, still won't come back up by itself. I split the tractor and now the pedal comes up OK, so it's the internal brake that's maybe not releasing? I haven't had this problem on other 125's -- is it common? And I've never h...

Another one followed me home
I didn't want to but I couldn't help it. Tractor and deck were torn down and completely repainted (Why red? Seller said that when he was doing it CC yellow wasn't available in the Valspar Restoration series paint, so he got the red). Rebuilt engine, rebuilt deck, many new parts -- he gave me the fol...

Yep -- snow off a metal roof. It finally warmed up enough to clear my barn roof. Sounded like an earthquake.

Tractor Day at Johnnie D's
After a week of cold rain, Saturday dawned clear, bright, and a little warmer, perfect for Johnnie D's Annual Tractor Day in Salem, NH. Tractors of all colors, shapes and sizes showed up and we enjoyed good talk, good food, and an altogether fine time as Fall winds down.

Hey, Oleg, welcome to the clan --
I've got 124s and 125's here, they're the same as 104s and 105s. I've got a steering tower you can have if you want to come get it. I'm in York, ME, not too far from Merrimack.
