Hi I converted the original spindles on my 149 to a 4 bolt hub it worked out very well. Hi Ken When I started to build my loader I used the pilot hole then the 1" method until my neighbor said try his carbide tip hole saw all I can say is thats the way to go it cuts through 1/4" steel like a hot knife through butter.The brand I used is champion they have a web site, I payed about $30. ...

Hi randy I built a loader using the PF engineering plans for my 104 cub cadet it works great lifts about 500lbs and the plans were easy to follow .I did beef up the towers and arms, the spindle upgrade is a must not too difficult to do on a 149. I've been burning coal for 7 years now its great.I use about two tons a season [about 50 lbs a day 1 five gal bucket ]in a harmon fireplace insert with two blowers it payed for it self in two and a half years.
