Unless you are building a show queen, that deck should work ok for a few more years. I have a few decks that look like that. Some have patches welded in and ware the base metal is to thin to weld, I have pop riveted tin over the holes. If you do scrap it, save the spindles and blades. For tail light...

As for the clogged nozzles, I keep a small baby food jar half full of lacquer thinner to store nozzles in.

Thanks Paul. I recently bought a 1650 project that needs a lot of work. Not sure it has the correct spring on it but will know a little more the next time i get a chance to work on it.
