Re: 1985 chevy Custom deluxe k30 restoration

One of my favorite trucks was a 1981 Chevy step side that I owned about 15 years ago. I restored it including a new wood bed. It had a strange setup for the manifolds, It was a six with one piece intake exhaust manifold. That little engine ran and ran. Wish I had it today. Wife was driving it around...

Re: THe boys

Nice group of Cubs. I think your correct on the ISO mounts. I did the sway bushing set up on a 1605 I had and switched back. Felt like I was being shaken off the seat at low speeds. Those decks such get the job done.

Leopard Cub out for some fresh air

Decided it was time to bring out my 123 for some fresh air and sunshine. I did this one a few years ago when I had some extra time on my hands. I used photos from the IH archives to make it as true to the original as possible. Each spot was done by hand over several evenings or should I say weeks af...

I once had one with what I thought was a knock and it turned out to be the front PTO, the pulley on the PTO basket weld cracked and separated and made the knocking noise some how :?: Glad to here your progress. Can't beat the old cast iron Kohlers!

Re: 126 almost ready for the garden

That's one rare tractor, a red 126 has got to be one of a kind :notworthy: Seriously, it's an IH Cub Cadet and that's all that matters. I started out collecting IH Cub Cadets when I got my first one and it was a 126. That was 20 some years ago and over 200 Cub Cadets since. Love the 126. Have fun wi...

Re: Private Cub Cadet collection auction

The scraper guy purchased all the remaining hoods, around 15 or so for something like $20 for all and turned around and sold them for $10 each to anyone wanting one. I don't know why those wanting one didn't get in on the original bid for them :?: He ended up scraping what was left. The scraper guy ...

Re: Private Cub Cadet collection auction

I thought Bob's auction had some pretty good deals. A 1962 "Original" with non-smoking engine, headlights, oil bath, nice hood and ornament in good running condition (the winning bidder drove it to his truck to load) went for $200. I picked up a mix of new and used parts for cheap, enough to fill my...

Re: Private Cub Cadet collection auction

Been there many times and didn't see any 169's or 800's. I know he doesn't have anything red  but a decent selection of the yellow ones, some running and some not. Looks like the weather may be an issue but I hope all goes well for him. Not sure why Bob's stepping out of the CC hobby :?: I hope...

If you guys want to stay home and let me bid for some more Cub "stuff" I'll be sure to post a report on how it went :D I will be there plus the "O" that I recently finished will be displayed but not for sale. Bob's place is about 4 miles from me. There will be parking at the "Occasions Party Center"...

Re: Correct Yellow

Good stuff. I even use it for touch ups at times. I spray a little in a clean 2 liter bottle cap and let it sit for a couple minutes and with a small good quality artist paint brush I touch up small chips or nicks. It's not only the correct color but cost less (at my local dealer) compared to MTD ye...

Re: Just about done with the Original

Hi Geezer Been a long time. Yes, the deck is ready to attach with all the parts. I don't hook up the deck drive belt to the front engine pulley, I just hang it on the front grill with a white tie strip to have it there if needed. I have had several that the blade continued to spin with it disengaged...

Just about done with the Original

This one was a winter project. It was such a cold one in Ohio this year that I decided to take my time. It turned out to be a decent restoration. Once I add the muffler, reflectors and a few minor adjustments I should be ready to start my next project....possibly a 100.

That's a nice one with all the goodies. Did ya check the head :geek: when you pulled it to see if ya got a LP (Hi Compression) one on that 10hp Kohler? I've been lucky this past year and had 7 of the older 10hp's with the LP head. Have fun with it.

Watching over the herd  . My 123 "Leopard Cub" likes to spend time guarding my Cub Cadet Corral out back. It knows that although these Cubs are not in the garage with some of the better looking ones, they are part of the family and one day will be brought back to life ;)

782 ready for spring

All I have to do is install the rubber brake pedal pad and deck decals and I can call it another complete Cub Cadet project. This 782 turned out nice. Sometimes ya just gotta take it to those who do it for a living. I remove the tires from the rims but have a tire shop do all my mounting. Spending a little extra :x is never fun but the time, frustration, and possible pain is worth it when all is said an done. Good luck.

When I have the rear PTO unit out of a Cub I use a hammer and pointed punch and tap a few spots around the set screw opening (along with using loctite). The last time I check on the rubber connectors the local dealer had them. Around $40+ each :o If you have any local businesses dealing in used IH equipment you may get lucky and find them there. Many of the older IH combines used the "Guide" brand lights as work lights. You would also find the plast...

A little more done on the Original

Just finished painting my 4 digit "O". Here's a picture of the rear PTO section. I know the tires show over spray...those are my moving tires that I use on my projects to push tractors around while working on them. I hope to have the 782 done soon also. I'll post some pictures of it soon. Do the day...
