Re: Bought a Yellow and white 982 oddball

I've had lots of yellow and white 82 series, including two or three 982's,but the decals were all the wider style. The OP's tractor is a repaint.Just my 2 cents....

I've got these two old steering wheels hanging in the garage and I'm not sure what they came off of.

Re: Shop show and tell

Okay,I'll play. Here's my shop. At the moment,it's ready for our annual Easter celebration. I've never had a problem with floor space. :D Kind of hard to show the whole shop but,for Easter,we usually have about 75 people and we have plenty of room. http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/ac105/cubcountry...

I'm not parting out my 52 Chevy sedan or my 71 Chevelle,BUT,when I'm dead and gone,I guarantee someone probably will.If no one ever parted out a 3 digit Original, they wouldn't be a collectors item.
I say go for it Mr. Nixon!!!

Re: Someones parting a 3 digit ...Geesh...

I haven't parted anything out for a long time but, when I was,I always said the nicer ones come apart easier.
They're only valuable to the people that collect them. It's that way with everything.

Modine Pressure Switch

This switch was on my 75,000 BTU Modine propane heater working fine until the plastic decided to crack and let the wires dangling so,I replaced it with a new switch ($80.00).After I spent the money for the new switch,I decided to take some Goop(good stuff by the way)and fix it.It works fine and I re...

How can you tell ? The paint is burnt off it . That era same tractor different paint. :P
Look at the rear tire pattern, the white rims, and the axles sticking thru the rear rim. It's not a John Deere.

Re: I Really didnt have a choice, was just to cool....

I had that same trailer.I never had the tractor.Mine was hooked to a Farmall 400 pedal tractor.I remember ripping the fenders off of it because they were in the way and got hooked onto everything.I never liked the trailer because it was A/C and the only tractors I liked were Farmalls and John Deeres...

Re: tire chain size

I'd go with the 10.50's.
You'll have more tire to ground contact plus more chain to ground contact.
More important on these tractors is WEIGHT.Lots and lots of WEIGHT.

Cooper Tires

I've been looking at new tire choices for my Maxima and I kind of think I'd like to try a set of Coopers.
I think they still make Coopers in the U.S. somewhere.
Anybody have any thoughts or comments? :?:

Has anybody else seen this?
People REALLY need to do a little research before they try to make a huge profit off of grandaddy's old mower.
I especially like the way they "restored" it with the wrong seat and the tape marks and overspray on the tires.
Maybe they should contact Barrett-Jackson.
