Re: What did you do with your cub today?

Had to do it. LOL It's operational as it sits, but will need to be trimmed up a little. Plus it needs to be all welded up. I don't have the best of tools, so it isn't perfect, but I had alot of fun today working on it! And yes, to open the hood all I need to do is lift the pipe straight up. It's a n...

Re: Sold my truck, back to driving a car

Vince, I was thinking of doing the same thing. Maybe finding a 2wd truck just to haul around stuff when needed. I will see how this works for now. I still have my Sterling though to haul stuff also :D bcuster. No hitch is going on this car lol. Last winter we only had one large storm, but that was a...

Sold my truck, back to driving a car

Yep, since 1995 if I recall right my main transportation has been some sort of a truck or SUV. Sure I had a hot rod, or my wifes car around to drive, but now no truck! I sold my beloved 01 S-10 Blazer, and bought a Chrysler 300 this past weekend. I was in my garage tonight looking at my RWD car wond...

Mower Deck Size?

Yep, it's almost fall, and i'm now just starting to try out my mower deck. Couple questions.......
1. How do I find out the deck size if the ID tag messed up?
2. Is this the correct mule drive? I thought I had the correct belt, but it was to small.
Thanks!!

Carb Question

Ok, I have had enough of the search so I'm just going to post this. I need to know what one of these 3 adjustment screws to make my K341 run richer. I keep reading about it, but just can't find where it says what one to adjust. Thanks! On a side note, I got my 1650 running again!! The new head gaske...

Re: Breather Cover Questions

Vince, ya I got it so tight the dang nylon nut stripped. I tried getting it off, but ended up messing the threads up so bad that now I need to order another stud.
Plus I found out that the head gasket is shot. Arrg

Re: Breather Cover Questions

Funny as i'm posting replys to myself.......just to maybe help someone else who may run across this. I found out that most likely the cause of the oil still weaping down the side of the block may be the breather "base" (dont recall the actual name of it) I'm going to buy a gasket for this, and I thi...

Re: Breather Cover Questions

*update* I just noticed after doing some light driveway grading I drove back into the garage, and when parking it I noticed oil spitting/dripping from the rubber hose connected to the breather. Again, is that normal?

Breather Cover Questions

I'm installing a new breather cover from Kirk Engines, Inc. I have a new gasket, but i'm getting oil leaking from the breather cover bottom. The instructions tell me to torque it down 70 in-lb, but truth be told I only have a foot pound torque wrench. I don't want to wrench it down really tight so I...

1641 Steering issue

This is my buddy's tractor, and I personally haven't looked at it yet. He wanted me to post this question for him.... He tells me that he is hearing a grinding noise when turning to the left. It will turn to the left, but must use both hands to crank the wheel. But here is what confuses me is that i...

Re: I bought my first RV!

Whoever Installed the stereo is a idiot!! They tapped into the same wire the runs the running lights, and the tap connector cut the power going to the fuse panel. Why didn't they just shove a wire into the fuse? Sheez!!!! After redoing the stereo wiring, and connecting wires back together the runnin...

Re: I bought my first RV!

Looks to be in pretty good shape for the year. Pretty much all RV's have at least two batteries. Some times they are hidden in very out of the way spots. GM vans for instance have the second battery mounted underneath the vehicle in a box attached to the frame rail !! That vintage RV could have the...

Re: I bought my first RV!

Jeff We had a GMC motorhome about that vintage it had a Dc converter as part of the fuse pael (A/C power in the camper) There was also a spare battery under the hood There was a D/C switch inside the drivers door floor area to switch one to the other The D/C circuits were fused at the panel Well I ...

Re: I bought my first RV!

Well, so far I still can't get any running lights to work. Though I did plug it in to 110, and all the interior lights work....and the a/c! LOL Still haven't tryed the heater or the fridge. Well, kinda on the fridge. It's set to "electric" and I never did hear it turn on. I have a buddy who has had ...

Re: K341 Question about rebuild

Nevermind lol I think I found it (behind the carb) and it leaked out a good amount of oil. What does that mean if it's leaking oil from there?
BTW there is a small pinhole at the bottom that keeps weeping oil from it......

K341 Question about rebuild

I noticed after getting my 1650 home I started noticing more, and more smoke coming from the exhaust. I'm trying to decide what to do. Since it runs actually very good I wouldn't think I need to have a full rebuild done to it? Do you think I can get away with just getting new gaskets installed to so...

After a long trip, i'm home with my newly bought 1650. I still duno what size deck it has as the tag is so hard to read. oh well, wasn't going to mow with it much anyways. The rear blade is homemade, but built really nice. The front blade is looks to be IH, but seems to be really heavy duty. The fra...
