Re: Tire Size

23×10.5×12 tire on the cyclops, non super garden, tractors use that size and offset. The supers use a 12x8.5 wheel with 26x12x12 tires but have a different offset.

Re: 1572 rear end

I had both sides welded up on my 2182 a couple of years ago by a guy at work using a tig and they came out looking very nice and are still looking good. I did have him add some extra bracing at the time also. I use this primarily with a blade now and don't baby it.

Nice blade and plow. Do you have the mounting plates on the tractor?

Re: NUsed Adapter Housing and Support Brackets

Really nice looking finished product. Hope you get plenty of snow to push around. Cub Cadet recommends taking two of the springs off for pushing snow so the blade trips easier in case you hit something that doesn't move. Good looking original also.

Re: Cub Cadet 1440

According to parts tree the model 318, 44 inch and model 320, 42 inch are for the 1440 tractor but it seems that the model 321 46 inch, the model 317 48 inch, and the model 324 54 inch decks should also fit unless it's a horsepower issue. I'm not familiar with QL models so can't help with those.

Re: Ag tire question

You can run chains with your ags and the traction is better than without chains but turfs with chains will give the best traction in my experience with my supers. The chains on my firestones that came with my 2182 don't fall between the treads too bad if you keep them tight. The rear wheel size is 1...

Re: NUsed Adapter Housing and Support Brackets

I have four of these setting around and on my supers and they are all the same size, with the exception of the one I had made by a friend at work to replace one that I broke. Here is a drawing of mine. I have changed some sizes due to making it heavier duty or (harder to break).

According to Parts Tree, it looks like a model 450, 45" two stage snow blower is what should fit your 1811.

Re: 2182 pictures please

You could have them measure the carb opening and see if any pod filters, like what is used on motorcycles, are available to use either temporarily or as a permanent solution. It's better than using it without one.

Re: 2182 pictures please

Here are a couple more pics. Notice that there were two different style brackets to hold the filter assembly. The 1782 filter assembly should work also except for the hose from the intake manifold to the filter housing. Note that the last two pics are from a 1782 D640 diesel engine. If you need any ...

Re: NUsed Adapter Housing and Support Brackets

The brackets are for the rear mounts for a haban blade. I see I also left one dimension out. The spacing is 3.5 inches from the top side of the bracket to the .665 hole on the bottom right side. EDIT The drawing a few posts up have been updated.

Re: Haban Blade 401 assembly

I replaced my cutting edge with a piece of 1/2 x 6 x 55 inch flat bar. It strengthens the blade and lasts much longer than the original cutting edge. Just drill round holes and put hex bolts in it. It plows the same and can still be flipped.

Cab on the 2182

Put a cab on the cub 2182 super after having to tweak the rear brackets straight and strengthen them by welding 3/8 inch square stock to the sides.

Re: 1440 Lift Bracket

On the Cyclops tractors, at least the supers which is what I have, the arm pushes to lift the 451/551 blower or the haban snow blade. All Cyclops supers have hydraulic lift and I don't know if the manual lift Cyclops utilizes a pull to lift setup as I'm only familiar with the Cyclops SGT. Thanks.

Trust me, I only copy other ways I've seen and probably throw away 5 or 6 attempts before I'm happy with the results and I can understand it. The tv comment is just a saying I've been using for years.

Re: Kubota Starter Replacement (1772, 1782, 2182, etc.)

Tom, Thanks for the write up. You do nice work. My 2182 starts and runs great but the 1782 is probably going to need a starter up grade in the near future due to slow cranking when hot. I appreciate and enjoy your detailed write ups. Keep up the good work.

Re: 1440 Lift Bracket

The pic should have the bolt size as 5/16 X 1.5 x18 tpi. Sorry about the mixup. I actually measured mine again and mine is made out of 1 inch flat bar and only had to grind a little bit off due to rubbing the brake pedal.

Re: 1440 Lift Bracket

Updated pic, bolts are 5/16 dia. 18 tpi X1.5 long. Top part is 3/4, in the new pic it tapers from 5/16 down to 1/4 at the bottom. Note that bolt holes on the right are tapped and left side are just drilled through holes so that the bolt tightens onto rockshaft and not the lift bracket. I made mine 3...

Here are dimensions from a cyclops with hydraulic lift. The width is 3/4 and the pin is 1/2 dia. but I changed my dia. to 5/8 due to breaking the smaller size multiple times.
