The winch comes with a rocker switch on extension wire for in and out. I put a hose clamp on lock button on lift handle so latch is disengaged.
I put a piece of tape on the cable so I know when tiller is almost full lift just before tape gets to roller.

I bought a 2000 Lb. winch from Harbor freight for $50 dollars, had to make a couple of brackets to mount it. put an extension on the mower arm with a different angle to hook to,mounted in and out button on lift arm, works great for tiller. Wish I could send picture.
