Re: 127 governor problem
To those who responded - THANK YOU! I ended up having no back pressure againest the governor when running, so I took the motor out (again), tore down and installed a new governor gear. It now runs, idles, etc, now as it should. I did study the old gear and it appears one of the weights seem to hang ...

127 governor problem
Recently restored a 127. Complete overhaul. It starts well and runs, but the governor is not working properly. I have adjusted as it is supposed to be done, but there is no tension or pressure against the governor arm. When you pull the arm away from the carb I thought it should almost spring back. ...

Joe,
you are correct. I just had my rockshaft out due to faulty roll pins and noticed the lack of a weld. I chose not to weld, but to construct the bracket and install on the other side where the stresss is at.
good observation

54" Haban power angle blade question
I installed my new (to me) Haban blade on my 1872 today. All went on very well. I need to make the Cross shaft support brace, but my question is the angle blade does not go the left very well at all unless I slightly pull the up/down lever. It goes to the right as it should (fast), but not to the le...

implement lift on a 1872
cable assembly on my 1872 impliment lift was broken. I am replacing. I ahve looked at illustrated drawing, but just a little unsure of how the cable assembly actually installs. And there is a nut to what seems to be used for an adjustment.
Any advice on installation and adjustment.
Thanks

1872 power steering
I have re-built my Parker power steering on my 1872. I am helping a friend do the same, but it is on one of those "other brands" (318). same pump it appears. after we have it all back now, the steering wheel and wheels turn to the right when running. In fact, it's a strain to turn to the left at all...

Todd,
I checked fuse first, looked OK, but I stuck anyone in it just to see. I also tried another battery from my 149. I then checked my battery with my electrical tester. I was getting 12. 94 v.

Kevin,
I have pulled the plug off the key switch and cleaned. When you say solenoid, you mean the one solenoid next to the battery? Where the cable from the + of battery goes to?

I have been cutting grass with my 1872 this season and it has been running perfect. After cutting earlier in the week, I parked it in the barn as always. I went to cut this afternoon and when I turned the key, I got nothing. No headlights at the first click of the switch, no movement of the amp guag...

problems with my 50" deck
I have stuck on a 50" deck on my 1872. Mows well, but once in a while the right blade I think it is slows down or does not turn as fast as the others. Is this a belt issue, bearing, or what? It appears the tension on the PTO is fine.

Here is a picture of progress on the restoration. All seems to be going good, just need more time to play. Work is getting in the way of play. I have the mower completely apart now. some parts are blasted and primed, but one (1) of the solid rubber tires is bent. Does anyone have any ideas on how to straighten the hard rubber? I have not tried heat. I was scared to do so.

I have a Mott T-38 pull type mower. I am wanting to restore it. Does anyone have the right paint colors (formulas) for the yellow and the orange for my hard rubber tires? I have new knives for it.
Also, does anyone reproduce the decals for it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

does anyone happen to know what models had a seat with the flip up arm rests?
also, what is the part number of the seat itself? I have the arm rests, but would like to get a seat to put them on.
Thanks in Advance
