Re: Deck Handle
That pin in the handle cast isn't coming out! Do I need to pull the handle out to get it off? I poured penetrating oil on it and three pouches also an air hammer pouch! Thinking cutting shaft!

I am trying to remove the implement handle for a 129. I removed the two pins on the inside of the frame. Doesn't move! Any thoughts?? Did I miss something?
Thanks!

Wire hook up
I decided to verify the old 129 wires were good. I did an ohms check the wires and repaired some damage wire. The safety switches were broke and corroded so I cut and spliced wires. I hooked a battery up and turned the key! I got the plug to fire! No jumping for joy yet! The starter/generator didn't...

Idea?
I was thinking the other day which may be dangerous! This is the idea I seen a video of a CVR disk tree cutter attached to an ATV. This is the idea or question that I have. Since it is attached to either a skid steer or an ATV could it be mounted to an old cub cadet? The video has a person backing u...

Re: Electric
I took out the wire harness and starter solenoid. The harness insulation off in several spots. The solenoid had a crack across it. Connector on the amp gauge got a burnt. Cleaned transmission had about 20 + dirt on it. Next step will be building a harness. Making the fuel tank solid piece with no ho...

V-Belt IH-401960-R1
I recently bought a V-Belt IH-401960-R1 for my 129. I put it on the engine pulley it was tight to put on the generator. I got it on but the belt has no slack in it. The generator is touching the motor! I am guessing it is the wrong belt but it is the one that is called out for a 129?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Electric
I found that the starter solenoid is bad. I got a turn up kit. I replaced the points and started looking for the condenser. There was not one on the tractor. Where and does it originally have one?

Electric wire issues! Wires are cut in some places and worn in others. I would like to build a new wire harness. Does anyone know what are gauge wires from battery to points used on a 129 with no lights!
Thanks

Just a few questions now! I now know the starter generator is working! After watching a youtube video on how to op ck it. The coil is missing so I assume it is a 12 volt coil? The starter generator is a 12 volt system but needs a voltage regulator since it is not built in correct? Is there a way to ...

HYDRO Transmission Fan 20 questions
On my 129 I have a broken transmission fan. How important is the fan to the operation of the tractor? I want to know is there a wrong way to install it or does it matter? Once it is installed how long do they last? I am curious why is it plastic instead of metal?

Re: Cub 129
Looks like a little redneck engineering going on with the electrical system. So going to have to get the wiring straight before starting the engine. I got the serial number 2050046U521631 from the tractor to make the part search a little easier. I will keep you informed.

Re: Cub 129
Been a while since I posted. Update on the 129 is not good. I took off the drain plug and nothing but water came out. I think it was just in the drain pan. Since the engine was free.
So my question is what would you do?

Re: Cub 129
It is a hydro 129. I'm going to start disassembling it piece by piece. What I will do first is disconnect the engine from the transmission. I hope to find the motor is free.
It did come out of the woods it had moss growing on the hood! I need to make it into a rolling stone once again!

Hello all I'm Jeff! I am new to the site! I have restored a few Farmall tractors. I am going to try restoring a Cub cadet 129. It had belonged to my Uncle.
