Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

I have a 451 on my 2082, It works great and I want to sell it. I have no idea how to off load it and I'm looking for ideas. Also not sure what a reasonable asking price is ($400?), I replaced the plastic chute last year. Craigslist is nothing but spammers and I don't (won't) have facebook for the ma...

Re: 2082

So I finally bought a new and much bigger tractor. I think it is time to unload the 2082. Looking for a little guidance on what a reasonable asking $ is and where I should try and sell it. Tractor: It looks used but runs well. It still needs some work to be working 'good' (brakes primarily need to b...

Re: 2082

I bought the after market...its been a year and it has been working fine. New problem, the Charge pump check valves are both weeping hydro fluid through the top weep holes. Not sure the function of the check valve but for both of them to go at the same time seems odd. I'm wondering if I have some so...

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

I finally figured it out. The drive pulley on the snowblower (9 incher) was deformed. What happened was over the years the drive pulley, when lowered, would make contact with the idler puller. It deformed the drive pulley with such consistency I thought it was manufactured that way. The V was folded...

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

Last thing before I modify. The 9inch drive pulley on the snowblower seems odd. When installed, the rim closest to the tractor has a folded over lip in the inner race, Where the belt rides, this appears to be manufactured that way (because the lip is so consistent). However this could explain a lot ...

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

I am done with the belts. Followed all of the advice and prior to this snow season did the following: Purchased a new idler and tension pulley (OEM), purchased a new tensioner spring (OEM). I also installed a new electric PTO this summer since mine fried when my stator died. So it also has an after ...

Re: 2082

Wow...thanks for all the great info. Really give a good history. I feel like I have a clue now. So as mentioned it has the Kohler 20HP. My PTO clutch just went tits up tonight. Bearings are fried and the magnet is completely delaminated....seems like time for a new one. Part number 717-3340 later re...

Re: Kohler M20

Tore it down all the way. Bearings look good so I will reuse. All oil seals, valves, valve springs and gaskets will be replaced. The compression was good so I'm going to keep the oring (new orings are expensive for this badboy). Ill let you know how it runs when I'm done.

Thanks
Nate

Re: Kohler M20

So....I tore down the engine to do a valve job. I also had an oil leak I couldn't identify so I purchased the M20 gasket kit, which comes with oil seals, from iSaveTractors (that guy is great). Anyway...due to some bad cleanliness practices I believe I have some contaminants in the crankshaft compar...

Alright...here is a silly question-
What "series" tractor is the 2082? Is it an 82 series? That seems like it would make sense.

Thanks

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

I think it is the idler and tensioner pulley. I think the belt is sitting way to deep and both pulleys which actually increase the horizontal distance between the idler and tensioner and the snowblower drive pulley. I believe this is resulting in not only the 90 degree twist in the belt between pull...

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

Well, I picked up the OEM belt from a local dealer. First impressions were it is much more sturdy. I blew 10-12" of snow yesterday for over an hour with no issues. Thanks for the advice. Spoke to soon....I didn't just shread the belt...I ripped it to pieces. I'm throwing my hands up...bringing to th...

Re: Greetings from Upstate NY

Well, I certainly agree with this plan, in fact...I think its a great plan. Not sure the wife is going to be on board though. However, she has agreed that when she goes back to work I can get a new tractor, probably a compact with a loader and bucket. thats a few years off though. Not sure which bra...

Greetings from Upstate NY

 I never introduced myself so here goes... Names Nate, live near Saratoga Springs, NY with my my wife and three children. We've got a nice place and 5 acres so the Cub Cadet 2082 I bought in 2016 really helps. I picked up the tractor, 54" mower deck, 551 snowthrower and 17cuft trailer for $170...

Re: 450, 451 and 551 Snowblower Application Notes...

The info on the 551 and SGT's is great...but I'm missing one prime piece, what size belt to use? I have the 551 snowthrower attached to a 2082 with the 6inch PTO pulley. The gear ratios seem correct as this setup really chucks the snow when its working properly. The problem is...I shred belts quickl...

I went into the fuel tank on the suggestions above. Im embarrased to say the fix was as simple as blowing out the crap that was stuck in the two shotoff valves attached to the gas tank. I guess the good of it is I know the tractor inside and out now....thanks for the help...shes running nice and cut...

Re: 2082

I manufactured the the lifter arm. I measured the drawing and scaled it up based on the shaft measurement on the tractor. It seems to fit well and everything has good clearance. I made it with 1/2" steel plate and did some weld build up where the bolts go through. Ill post a pic soon. Thanks again f...
