Sort of hate to say it but the 108 is finished. The foot rests need to be black but everything else is done. This includes the clutch which now works great. Tks to all on this site that helped me through this process.

Had the local JD dealership work on the JD345. Got some new gage wheels for Christmas. Going to put the clutch and drive shaft back in the 108 today or tomorrow. I got the parts (teaser spring and spacer) as directed. A '55 Tbird that we rebuilt the engine on (had 0-zero-oil pressure).

We have had 8"+ this season. We normally have less than 1" (Deep South)

It's grinding because the driveshaft is turning. Sounds like the paint overspray and adjustment is where you need to be looking. Tom: I see. Way down here in the Deep South they close the schools with just the threat of snow. It did snow on Dec 8: 4-6 inches in places. Biggest snow since 1982. They closed the schools.

Mike - As you move forward, slow down, read the manuals on here and ask questions. Bad surprises like breaking the pulley can be avoided if you know about things such as the secret extra set screws! Also, you will need this type of knowledge to reassemble properly. Well, I do go too quick at times....
