Re: 450 Mounting and Belt Question

You really need the 449 spring assist with the 450 blower. The lift arm is so short it has a good chance of offercamming and bending the rockershaft on the blower. The spring will help lift it and make sure it stayes over center.I use one on my 982.

Don't forget about the output shaft being smaller output gear and larger reduction gear than standard Cub Cadet.

If you cut back the bar that the straps hook to it will clear the tiller mount and the lower arm pins hold the brinly adapter.Been there done thet.

It is motor rpm at the top of the clutch but is reduced at the output pulley I have a Woods cat-o finish mower and it is rated at 800 RPM ,put a tach on the output shaft and check.

Re: Has anyone ever try to polish cast aluminium ?

Most cast aluminum has too many impurities in it to really shine up.For example the cast headlite rings for a 123 are at best a dull gray.I have made the front trim rings out of 4" aluminum conduit and it will machine well and polish like chrome.6061 aircraft aluminum also polishes up well.
