Brake issues

My brake pedal on my 1864 won’t come up on its own. I have to put my toe under the pedal and lift it up. Checked the return spring and it’s still there. Any thoughts?

Re: Steering whines

Should I have a new gasket on hand in case the old one is bad? Do the bolts have to be torqued?

Re: Steering whines

The drain plug in the rear housing was froze. Tried everything to get it out. Didn’t want to break the housing. That’s when I decided to pump the fluid out from the top.

Re: Steering whines

I bought a small 12v pump that I’m going to try. The hose on one end goes right down the fill tube.

Power angle for snow blade

I’m thinking about adding an electric actuator to my snow blade to angle it. Has anyone else tried this.

I don’t have an owner’s manual. Do you run the tractor after changing fluid to fill the filter? How much fluid does it hold?

Re: Steering whines

Just started doing it after mowing season. I’ve not changed fluid or filter this year. The fluids looked foamy or milky on the dipstick.

Re: Steering whines

Checked that and it read full on the dipstick. What else could be causing the whine? Seems to be worse when you first start it up. It’s on a 1864.

My 1864 doesn’t have a lift ear on the rock shaft. It has a lift heights indicator dial. Crap!

Ok guys, l looked at the snow blade off the 782 and I think it might work. The lift bracket apparently is welded to the rockshaft and I need advice on how to remove it.

Thanks for the information. Yes my tractor has hydraulic lift. Can the blades be angled from the drivers seat or do you have to get off every time?
