Re: Plotting my own demise.

Looks like you chose a pan seat 70/100 with optional head lights, fenders and oversized ag tires for the image above your name.
I didn't know the different meaning for the crosses until I googled it.

Oregon part number is 90-656. I don't know if they still make them.

IH had several rebranded self propelled lawn boy models. You can find parts diagrams for all models at the Cub Cadet parts lookup site.

This is from Dave Kirk Engines Size is 3/8 - 18 taper pipe thread, commonly used on many small engines. This plug also fits Kohler AQS (Quietline) engines that use a flanged 3/8 - 18 straight thread plug. You'll find the taper thread eliminates leaks and there's no finicky gasket to replace. https:/...

Seller says it's new - has a best offer - free shipping - seems to be very hard to find - if it's what you need than I would get it. You may not find another.

The same transmission may have been used in an old Wheel Horse/Toro rear engine rider. Check these links to see if #41 might be the same. https://www.partstree.com/models/63-05bf01-a-60-toro-26-rear-engine-riding-mower-1976/a-60-riding-mower-parts-list-3/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/TORO-TRANSMISSIN-IN...

Best guess...$75.00
You could spend all winter restoring and spend hundreds of dollars. Be lucky to find a buyer for $500.00

Re: IHC logo weights

I'm not sure any 12" wheel weights were used before the Farmall Cub. I have seen a couple photos of pre-production Cubs as early as 1945.
It's possible they were making them before the change and didn't change the mold until necessary.

Re: 1811 back from the dead

The SKF seal has a blue bore tite coating on the outer edge, no need for any type of sealant. If my memory serves correct, the KT17 service manual says to use a sealant on the Kohler seal but the M18 manual does not. http://s7d9.scene7.com/is/image/GenuinePartsCompany/NWMDC?$Product=GenuinePartsComp...

Re: 1811 back from the dead

X-583-5-S is the Kohler # for the rear (pto side) crankshaft seal for the M18.
A better option, in my opinion, is a SKF seal.

I was thinking about buying a used 3000 series but I value my time more than that. I'm not sure I would go after a free one if I had to drive that far. There are many factors to consider. :?:

I think it depends on the serial numbers of the engines if they will interchange. This parts bulletin may help.

Yea, I'm confused. Who is Charlie Proctor? The BBB shows CC specialties owned by Rusty Mcfarland. And a link to the fire shows the owners as RUSTY AND CHERYLE MCFARLAND.
