Thanks for the replies guys. Grandson is here today and said they changed oil and its working again! it was jerky and tite steering All is well in our piece of Cub land again

Gave my 2082 tractor with front loader to one of my Grandsons; after setting over winter it doesn't want to steer. Any suggestions on where to start looking? All help appreciated Thanks guys Ken in PA

Since 1882 transmission went out my 2082 loader tractor became my mower Have a Kubota back hoe and don't need the loader on a Cub and don't want the hassle of changing it and the 60" deck back and forth. Leaking fitting was caused by a hairline crack under the fitting.Ended up stealing a line off the 1882,it was smashed in in one spot but seems to do the jobCan't figure what caused the line to crack,tho

2082 hydraulic fitting leak
New problem One of the two hydraulic fittings on top the hydro pump is leaking between the fitting sleeve(?) and the tube itself Tried tightening ;didn't help Can I splice a line off another tractor that is bad on opposite end? As always thanks for all input Ken in PA trying to keep the weeds down

Thanks Lewis Got it running it was a carb issue from setting Then had a pulley issue. Tomorrow I have to find out where the hydro is leaking from-oil all over the floor after mowing and setting overnight

Dag; I welded it a few spots around the top of the shaft Took my time as I was afraid of getting it too hot Finished putting the deck on this morning and finished my mowing all seems okay The pulley looks like it was a press fit and there was a narrow copper colored band in it Have a great day guys ...

Pulled the loader off the 2082 and hung the 60" deck under it. second time mowing grass and the top pulley of the center drive pulley came loose and was just spinning on the shaft I've removed the deck and pulled the pulley off, it looks to have been pressed on This double pulley is NLA Thinking of ...

PTO went out on my 2082 and starter has acted up since I changed it so I decided to pull the motor out of my 1882 mower that the hydro went out on last year. Got the swap finished today but it won't run. I did notice the 2082 engine had an extra wire on the positive starter post which the 1882 didn'...

Thanks guys Pulled the engine and got the starter changed.Had to back out the one starter bolt to get the starter out and in The new starter worked good on day one; but day two the bendix would just spin until I pushed it out a little with screw driver Guess I 'll be pulling everything out again whe...

I had a very similar issue and problems with my 1882 It drove me nuts Ended up being the fuel shut offs on both sides _- one was completly plugged and the other all but blocked good luck with it Ken in Pa
