Re: 1650 Muffler
Paul, I have both on several of my quiet lines. I prefer the look of behind the grill but the longer ones coming threw the grill are more practical, they never seem to line up with the hole in the grill though.

1862/450 Lift Bracket
I have an early 1862 that I would like to put a 450 thrower on and I think I need this bracket (AF). Does any one have some dimensions or a tracing they would be willing to share or send me?

I like the weights too.
Skott, I bought a Cub Cadet Yanmar EX3200 when they first started there joint venture and have been very happy with it. Only real complaint is they're not a joint venture any more.

1862 power steering
I have an 1862 that started leaking oil out of the top of the steering column. I got a new face seal (22) and it fits over the seal spacer (24) but the spacer is loose on the input shaft (26). My question is how tight is it supposed to be? Was it originally a press fit so fluid wouldn't leak by, or ...

Re: 1440 Lift Bracket
Thanks guys for the help. I did make mine out of ¾ stock like you suggested and I made the “ears” a little fatter. The inside also has to be a little bigger because it goes around the lift handle. I haven’t heard any complaints yet so it must still be working.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Thanks Tim and Steve. How thick is the "arm" portion (looks about 3/8" or 1/2") and the part the bolts go threw?

Does anyone in cubbie land have a H42 or H48 snow thrower they can get me some pictures of? Possibly on a tractor or of the thrower and the mounts.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Bryan, The only lighter I recall seeing in any literature is the black knobbed version you pictured below. That being said I have also seen one like you have, and in a 169 too.

Re: 1914 (982) repower
I don’t remember how long the difference was (one of those should have taken pictures while I was doing it projects) but maybe Midwest has a driver or spacer that could make up the difference at the engine end.

Re: 1914 (982) repower
Joe, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I put a Command in a 2072, which is a similar modification. I made a new wiring harness from scratch because I wanted it to look right, and factory. I used the stock flex disk set up like your 1914 has too and made a drive shaft that was long enough. It was a p...

Charles, I don’t know if there’s a spec in any of the manuals but the Kubota D-600 that I put in my 1650D runs in the 220 range according to this gauge.

Scott, I think finding a replacement is going to be close to impossible (but I hope some one proves me wrong). It looks like the pump body is aluminum? Can it be welded then remachined to repair the pump you have?

I’m still here, more of a lurker any more, but anyway… I’ve had a chance lately to catch up on some smaller projects of my own. Made a makeshift paint booth in the garage today and did some painting on some wheels that I’ve been working on. The booth did OK but theirs room for improvement. paintwhee...

Re: 3rd hydraulic circuit-anyone added one to a QL?
Charles, Neatest way would be to find a 3 spool valve like Dave said. A JD 140 H3 would have that kind of valve and if I remember right one spool had a float lock position. I’m not sure what, if any other Deere’s had a three spool valve. Another option is to use the “stackable” valves from a newer C...

Re: 1650 -broken cooling fan/iso mounts?
Eric, Sure the cradle and mounts being gone like yours are could make it harder to get the oil pan bolts out. You could also find that they’re not even there any more (got loose and vibrated out). Ether way a regular combination wrench probably isn’t going to work to get the front two out.

Re: 1650 -broken cooling fan/iso mounts?
Eric, Yes, there is supposed to be four rubber mounts like what was on the topside of the cradle on the bottom. What your picture shows is common, the rubber splits/cracks and falls out. I think it is going to be easiest for you to pull the engine with out the cradle rails attached. There are (or is...

I did a little searching and watch a video on youtube about the dies being driven. That makes sense too. If I could drive/roll the out...

Jonathan, Michael is correct, the smaller pulley on the deck helps to increase the blade speed and it helps them to cut better.

How’d they do it? Hydraulic lines.
A recent project of mine has been putting dual hydraulics on a 1450. I decided since I have lots of single spool valves and dual spool’s are spendy and harder to get, that I would plumb in two singles. I mounted one on the side of the dash similar to the 1x9s and I moved the standard QL steering col...

I’ve got a 44” deck for a QL that I would like to put the small drive pulley on but I’m not sure which part number is the right one. I think it is 126393C1 but also listed is 59703C2. Any one know for sure which number is the smaller pulley?

I’d say the smooth wide front tires like yours has on it are what it would have come with. The picture I posted was likely a stock IH picture that the art department modified to make them look a little wider. IH’s art department has modified several pictures in different literature to make it look m...
