No problem. Good luck with your snow. I just need a giant sponge here with all the rain.

Re: Cub Cadet Snow Blowers
Joey, I know you're across the state from me but I have a QA42 that I don't use. It does work. I had it on my 108. Not the best, but not the worst I've seen. If you're still looking for one let me know. I use front blade or rear blade to move snow so it's taking up room.

Re: Question about 1872
Thanks Dave. Not sure about the hours, I sent a message requesting some more info. I was thinking about the same 12-15 hundred range. My 149 is now my dedicated tilling unit and I cut grass with the 108. I hate taking the mower deck off and on to use my rear or front blades so just looking to see wh...

Question about 1872
Saw an 1872 w/60" deck for sale. Is there anything right off to look for problem wise? I have a 149 and a 108 so I'm not entirely blind. They want 2k. I'm not sure what the going price is on these units. That seems a little high considering what I've paid for my other tractors. Just a little insight...

Re: New Guy, 108 Rebuild
Very nice job there Mike. I'm also a 108 owner. Instead of painting my foot pads I cleaned them up and gave them to a friend who was getting his truck bed sprayed with bed liner. Turned out nice and has a little grip to them.

Tiller Help
I picked up a rear tiller and mounted it on my 149. I cannot read the tag on the tiller to determine which model it is. It does have the extensions. Is the another way of telling the model so I can get the correct belts? I have viewed a manual but it wasn't much help. Thanks in advance. Lance

S/G Question
My battery hasn't been charging on my 108, made it through pushing some snow. Got it started today, grounded the "F" terminal on s/g. No result. I removed the + battery cable, tractor died. Swapped out s/g with a spare, it started fine and amp gauge showed charging. What is a ballpark amount for get...

Re: K321 on bench
I took advantage of the two warm days we had Sat/Sun. Instead of the bench test I went for the install test. Swapped over some of the bolt ons. I dropped the mystery engine tweenst the frame rails of the 149 and it came to life. Just a little initial smoke then cleared up. Buttoned up the grill and ...

Re: K321 on bench
Thanks. After rewording my search I found that video. I just want to check it as it was in my parts 149. My current engine in the 149 smokes super bad (check oil frequently) and I don't want to trash a good block. I pulled the head on my parts engine, looked pretty clean, STD piston and the bore did...

K321 on bench
I have a K321 I want to try before swapping into my 149. I have seen somewhere directions on how to run engine on the bench, can't remember where. Any info is much appreciated.

Re: First Cub Ever Made
I saw one of those "stick steer" mowers in the dumpster a few years back. Way far gone to try to hoist out for recue. You know the yuppie on the mower is just glad he's not having to use the old reel mower anymore and getting his Keds sneakers all grass stained. Have a great day! Lance

Re: Front blade lift question
These are true coiled pins, not the "split side" single wall pins. I cannot see where anything is binding. Moves freely and is lubricated. It seems the pin on the right, just inside the frame rail is the one that is failing. I checked McMasterCarr site and they have the high strength coiled pins. Th...

Re: Front blade lift question
Went out and measured lift rod at 28 5/8" long. I checked and am getting 3" of lift on the blade. I disconnected the lift rod and checked the hyro lift bracket with no load. At the high point of lift I should potentially be getting the blade at least 12" off the ground. When I reattached the lift ro...

Re: Front blade lift question
This is the same blade set up that works fine on my 108. IIRC I had at least 6" or more of lift. I was just going to use the 149 for blade duties. Will have to recheck to make sure I haven't sheared off pin again. Lance

Front blade lift question
Just to try it on, I put my 42" front blade on my 149. I took the rear blade off the sleeve hitch. Now going back to when I got this tractor, it had a QA42 thrower on it but wouldn't lift it but about 2". I found the pin in the rockshaft to be a three piece part. Not good. I took off the thrower and...

Re: Grease fitting question
Put the torch on the fitting/spindle today for 20-30 seconds, worked like a champ. Good thing. I didn't see any way for the fitting to be unscrewed from the spindle. So I guess they would be pressed in. Thanks much! And no there wasn't a far... Lance

Thanks for the suggestions, I may try the torch on it first. It will probably help in case I have to remove the fitting anyway. Yeah I don't need a far. I can hear the scanner now, Yeah we gots some guy who set his deck on far. Marshmallows sound good though. Lance

Grease fitting question
I had my 44" deck off my 108 for cleaning, sharpening and painting the underside. I was able to grease two of the three spindles. One would not take grease. I used a pick to make sure the ball would move on each. All three moved easily. Is there a fix for these or is a replacement in the works for m...

Re: Steering tube question
Got my new steering parts installed and used some JB to reattach the tube to the box. Pretty happy with results when I installed it on my 108. The stud was worn some so I got about a third of a turn in which put the not so worn sides in touch with the grooves on shaft. Got to test it pulling the kid...

Re: 149 Creep, What Now?
I got the new trunion springs and ends installed as well as the pricey little plastic bushing. The trunion opening is worn/grooved at the back side. I filed the burrs off for now to make it smoother until I can get this fixed. The springs and bushing made a difference. I adjusted the brake rod going...

Re: Steering tube question
I cleaned all the grease off both parts and roughed them up with some sandpaper. I've got some JB. I think I'll try to get the fit tighter before I join them. When I removed it there was some silicone around the joint. I don't know, but it may have been apart before as one of the ball bearings was m...

Steering tube question
The steering tube separated from the box that I'm working on. What are you using or doing to reunite the two? It is a pretty loose fit. I thought about JB. Any suggestions. Thanks. Lance

Re: 149 Creep, What Now?
These "bumps" I see are like a dot of a weld at each corner on top of trunion, not wear grooves where the spring sits. Thanks for the help so far. Still working on getting pics. Lance

Re: 149 Creep, What Now?
Sorry for no photos, cameraless at this time or I would have. I'm going to order the springs along with some steering parts to rebuild another box for my 108. At least with the assembly off the tractor you have some room to work. Just don't mess up your spindle, I think they are pricey. Have a good 1! Lance

Re: 149 Creep, What Now?
The slot where the spring lives is not too bad, worn a little on the ends. There are four "bumps" one at each of the corners. Not sure if these are welds or not. I made a small sheet metal shim to see if it made a difference. None that I could tell. I picked the better spring assembly of the two I h...

Re: 149 Creep, What Now?
Still messing with this. The outside plate has an arrow on it. I'm guessing this where neutral is supposed to be? Is the pin supposed to be in line with arrow when in neural or is this just a guide? Lance
