Re: Carb Repairs

I have never done a bushing repair....I think I read somewhere that older carbs can be done with a drill press. Before you ask China for help with your 147 maybe call Ray and ask him what he gets for used carbs. Then go over and look for a tight one to rebuild. I'm so over China crap, but I understa...

Hey...good to hear from you Paul! Have you tried some heat and a socket about the same size? Honestly you could just completely grease the bolt up and intall. I don't think it is the end of the world if that doesn't move. I guess it depends how particular a man wants to be.

Re: 149D

Just out of curiosity..how do you find the power in that engine? My father had a kubota tractor with a 2 cylinder. We ran a 48 inch mower under that for years and it would start laboring a bit in thick spring grass. We never plowed or pushed snow with it. Pretty sure it was called a 12 hp diesel. I ...

First time this year with the 1872. I probably should have had gloves on to. I suffered through but my hands were like ice when I finished.
And yes Mike....Tom can even attest..I have a thick lustrous head of hair under that cap

Ken the couple I have opened up have the black metal trim ring. I'm thinking..or guessing that the black painted is a softer metal than the chrome. The rolled or crimed edge is not 100% so that allows me to get started with a gentle screwdriver and go around about 5 times...ever so softly. Getting i...

Ok..when you go at something with no fear things move pretty fast.lol. so I got it apart. The studs that come through the back are glued and sealed.
