Re: 126 repower

Looks great. So is the cam dip stick the factory original location on these units? That's where my 127 is but it's a factory replacement engine. The original owner had a dealer install.

Re: I found a collection of Cub Cadets

Sounds like you have the cub virus..that will be fun dragging all of them home! Most doctors say the only cure for that is to hord as much cub stuff as you can from your state... until you can't walk around your garage without tripping over cub cadet junk...then you will start to feel better and the...

Re: Steering changes between garden and super garden

Good question Steve. I have no idea but yes they do ad a lot of wear points and I have seen the large pin and lever thing very sloppy. I doubt anyone ever greases that and now I think about it....I haven't hit mine with grease in a long time. When guys ad power steering to 982s and others I'm sure i...

Re: Wheel damage

Looks amazing! I'm trying to think how I would have done this repair..lol. Well for me Ray W. is only an hour + away so I may have tried that first. But I probably would have made my die from a nice piece of oak then used a sledgehammer to massage the washers into submission. Lol. Again looks amazin...

Re: 1979 Cub Cadet International Purchase

Wow...you are back on the trail..and quickly heading down the rabbit hole. Lol. So if you have it delivered would that mean you are buying it site unseen? That would scare me but I know guys do it all the time. I guess I'm to sceptical for that kind of sale. I have rented uhaul trailers for cheap an...

Re: 1979 Cub Cadet International Purchase

I take that back...with that engine....$900 max. Like Tom said....that engine has a very bad reputation.... especially on a hill or embankment. Few years ago I sold a very clean all original 1811 with a beautiful deck. Only able to get $800.

Re: 1979 Cub Cadet International Purchase

Yeah nice tractor. It still has value but I think that tractor would be best for a trained cub cadet eye? It looks like it has new paint and that's fine but you don't know what your getting underneath the new gloss. A few things aren't adding up and unfortunately that means don't trust anything anyo...

Re: 1979 Cub Cadet International Purchase

This all sounds very exciting! This 1979 has a model number? This model starts with the engine horse power followed by "00" for gear drive or "50" for hydro drive. Ex. I have a 1979 "1650" which is 16 hp hydrostatic drive. I think a lot of your experience with a tractor like this will be based on ho...

Sickle bar... Joe make sure you snap a picture of that beast!
And yes I clean the surface of the deck off after every mow. All that grass accumulates during the mow.

IDK about safe or not...I dont think you will catch the china virus if thats what your thinking  . If you do it i would do it cautiously. I personally dont take a hose near the tractor..or a little as possible. I consider water the enemy but i guess if you have caked on dirt and dust you might ...

Re: Help . May be a stupid question

Hi. Couple quick things to check. Try removing a couple of the mower belts. Taking the deck belt off will let you spin the spindles and any idlers by hand and make sure they all move without effort. Removing the pto drive belt will let you check other pulleys and idlers. With the pto belt off you co...

Glad to hear your power is back Joe! How about Ken? Yeah things got a little dicey here north of Philadelphia. Several small tornado's did some damage in the area. Thanks BM. Do you have any guesses on a model ? I know Tom is into the newer cubs.. maybe he has this 2770... I think it's his loader tractor?. I wish baby cub would reply. I want to get this unsolved mystery behind me so I can move on with life.

Welcome David! Glad to hear you guys are enjoying the cubs. I never heard of that model but Im mostly into what i would call the late 80s cubs and not familiar with that model number. The model numbers you posted do look pretty similar to a 2072? If im all wrong it wouldn't be the first time as lots...

I have never done a bushing repair....I think I read somewhere that older carbs can be done with a drill press. Before you ask China for help with your 147 maybe call Ray and ask him what he gets for used carbs. Then go over and look for a tight one to rebuild. I'm so over China crap, but I understa...
