Re: Dozer blade 1872
This is what Tom and I were calling different "strap / bracket" rockshaft thing. From the picture it looks easy to make? But it's heavy gauge steel and it's offset...so not too easy.

Re: Dozer blade 1872
Looks ok. It's gonna need paint...and a cuttin edge. I think guys are making those...or you can probably make one yourself. I had a nephew with a mill make one with the factory slots for the carriage bolt head. I don't know if anything that can make a square hole in steel so you could just drill and...

Re: Dozer blade 1872
Oh cool! Power is the only way to go. This is what's called 401. That price is on the higher side but not out of the question if it's nicer. Make sure you look at pics and familiarize yourself with the blade and all components on picture before you go dropping that money on another brand that the gu...

I was thinking the same thing steve. I remember one of my first utube videos ever watched was that Cub cadet with the turbo... where he throttles it up and down a few times. Dave's video reminded me of that.

Wow what a cool project! Was that your first time hearing that engine? I have lots more questions..but I won't bother you with my needs. Lol. Looks so cool. Some day my all painted and ready to assemble 1572 will make it back together. Hopefully. Maybe.

Ok Steve...no excuses this year on this thread! Now you know it's here. I know Ny is a little behind the good states but... well that not your fault. I would guess I'm about week or two from kicking off the 2021 season. Wish me luck.

Yes Mike.. your project looks great and we are waiting for more... and thanks for the kind words Tom. Yes I love painting....but I'm finding out the putting back together is not one of my strengths. I try to set goals...but still not working. Maybe I should stop replying to all the darts and daggers...

Hey that's great. I think worn valves are a huge issue on these old engines. After seeing what guys go through to repower with an aftermarket engines..a refresh was the way to go.

Yeah..idk where everyone is. I was thinking Big mike or Tom would clear some of this up Dave. I was hoping mike would post some more progress in the coffee shop of a old skid steer he has been working on. I called it "topless" because it doesn't have any cab or roll over protection...and it sounded ...

That fancy topless skid steer of yours with the nice orange rims. I would call that a death trap!

Re: 1872 wiring question
You might want to Google a wiring diagram. What you said doesnt sound right as I know the battery neg (black) goes right to the frame and that ground cable is only like 12 inches long. Maybe to a battery tray bolt? The red pos goes right to the solenoid right next to the battery. Then a red cable go...

When it gets this nice out.... everyone has different things they think about. My first thought is to reach for the saw horses and a rattle can. Lol.This is called matte black. I think is should be a perfect sheen to hide blemishes and everything else under the hood. I should be "flaming" the tank.....

Nice. Yeah I found almost the same on my 2072 with maybe 1600 hrs. Bottom end was tight but I ended up doing mostly everything. Still haven't installed yet a few years later. Get us some pics when you get a chance. Thanks for the update!

Re: IH 3340 push mower
Sounds like a great project. I thought lawnboy made some of those? I'm guessing there's no cross pollination on that model with a parent company? I loved lawnboys. The sound...the smell....the color. As a kid and young adult they were my favorite. Oh...the bags on the side. Sweet. Then honda had to ...

Re: Best use for a 147?
I will start by saying...like I indicated in my last post I don't have a spring assist for my 127. I think the one in your picture is not the general use assist. As the picture says...brinly. that is probably for a rear plow? If it does the same thing...I can't answer that. This is what I think is t...

That was a neat video Paul. If anyone will develop the remote control lawnmower..it will be this next generation of kids. The google store probably has an app. I think my son already mows his lawn in "fortnite".

Re: Best use for a 147?
I would love to get a factory hydraulic set up for the 127.. but yeah they are pricey. My father had one on his 126 back in the day. Then he got a dual spool from a fork lift at Budd and we had power up .. and sideways. That was living! On my 127 I have a (as joe calls it) "q36" blower. . I li...

Looks great? Yeah I would try without the door for now. Even if you want one later..I would try a scrap of plywood. Definitely don't buy wood now, you will need to get your credit checked and approved for a loan. Lol. Maybe run a "clothes rod" in the ceiling somewhere to hang parts. Then if you have...

Ouch 🤕! ..that was painful about the fuel gauge. Lol. Yes that was fun last year...I guess. Lol Well since you said not to..that made me have to...but I tried a small patch on the older tank that probably won't ever get used. I saw this "trick" on restoring motorcycle and atv plastic. So I hand sand...

Re: My quietline
Well.. moving at a snails pace I'm now messing with the fire wall and fuel tank for the quiet line. Couple decisions to make but not too hard really. First is what tank to use. I thought the wide opening was a little nicer and then the deal was sealed when I found in my cub stash a new mtd gas gauge...

Re: Best use for a 147?
Welcome. Nice job on the 147! You picked a good one..and a little bit rare of a cub. I'm not sure of the production numbers but based on my radar they seem less than many others. I really like the 147s. I think they have great style! For you being in ny you should look for a blower. The single stage...
