You shouldn't need it. The filter will mount directly to motor and side panel should still go on.

Yes, you'll have to get in there where the coupling is at the engine. Not fun.JoeK wrote:Is there any way to remove the driveshaft without moving the engine forward? Got one heck of a vibration going on

It should idle smooth with the throttle lever all the way down. Also your rpms shouldn't fluctuate if you're not moving the throttle control. I had a similar issue and had to rebuild the carb and reset the governor arm.

I've gotten a few aftermarket starters for the KT17's and haven't had any issues. They just want way too much for the OEM starter.

Re: spark plugs??
I noticed that the KT17 kohler manual calls for the rv15yc plug and .025 gap which cross references to the #25 autolite. Is that because it's a breaker point system instead of the magneto like the mag18 and 20? It gets better. After doing the auto lite application lookup, it says for the kt17 to use...

Re: relief valve rebuild service question
Has any of you used the rebuild service for the hydro relief valves? The guy from Ohio that rebuilds these claims to have done 118 of these rebuilds, so I would guess that he knows what he is doing. He lists the service on E-bay at $35 each. I have no connection with this man and do not know him, wa...

Re: 1512 Diesel Problems!
Mine was starting to do something similiar. It would on occasion act as if I just suddenly throttled down and shut it off. It ended up being the fuel pump. I would have had to give my first born to cub cadet for a new one but ended up getting one direct from kubota for a fraction. I think your probl...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s
I've heard they will go much longer than that before a rebuild is required if it was taken care of properly. If it's not showing signs of needing a rebuild I wouldn't mess with it. Mine has about 800hrs on it. That's supposedly still pretty fresh. I would definitely get the parts from Kubota, don't ...

Yeah last week I mowed and toward the end I had to turn the lights on. At full rpm with the lights on and mowing I was just barely showing a charge. Right when I throttled down the rpms after mowing it started discharging with the lights still on. They could have took the time to come up with a bett...

Re: 1772 pto
I had to do this last year. It is a pain since you have to remove the radiator so I'd do a good cleaning of the radiator while it's out. I think there's two bearings in there if I remember correctly. Once you get the radiator out of the way, it's pretty easy. I would also check out the cooling fan b...

You may need to do a trunnion repair or replace your trunnion springs/washers. It shouldn't speed up much going down hill.

Jess hooked me up with a smaller mower deck a few weeks ago. It cleaned up really well and looks good on the super. I'm going to add some front wheel brackets on it sometime this summer when the growing grass slows down. Maybe some new decals.
