Re: Loader Mutt Continues...

Yes i'll start a new post shortly when i can get it to a pic form. No thanks to those high speed cubs. Those 20+ mph pulling speeds are scary enough. I'd rather go over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

Re: Loader Mutt Continues...

What you need for that project, Mike... is a Continental Y69 or a Hercules ZXB, or a Waukesha ICK... and a transmission out of a Cushman Truckster... they'd be perfect for that kind of project... Not in my scrap pile but a friend may have Cushman parts. I have a Briggs flathead twin, 2518 cub frame...

Mad scientist, oh ya. And the music to go with it. Nothing better than making parts from parts. I'm building a rat rod garden tractor now from 100% misc junk. Hoping for the look of a small model A or T truck. Watching the scrap pile get smaller and listening to the music. Mike :)

Good job. I'm glad you did that instead of selling them. 82 series with twins are smooth mowers. Now you can start collecting Commands for the next one. Mike :D Might have to take back what i said earlier in the year. I'm now sitting on a 22 command with 400 hours. Looking for a trwactor, i want hy...

Re: CCC 1211 Conversion to 1711

Hi John, i have a mag 18 that would slightly overfill after setting. The oil was not gassey. After a couple oil changes and bypassing the pump i think it was the oil in the filter draining back into the case. I had a fuel shutoff before the pump. The pump looked new and worked great. It's still bypa...

You need a new condenser or a good ground on that one. That's how they run when bad. Mike

Re: Loader Mutt Continues...

MWSC sells support reinforcement plates for those cast bearing cups to help from breaking. I think you will have one already made when you do your custom side. On those races in the cups, i think the Chrysler's go in larger and deeper.

Re: Loader Mutt Continues...

Crickets here. Hope you can find a way to hold that thing in. Limited slip is nice i guess , if it works. I'm a puller and have done the shimmed fine splines, they hold posi well unless you upset the apple cart a bit at the end of the pull. I've had a welded Chrysler also. There are aftermarkets now...

Re: 582 Special Cub Cadet

I think i said this before. The Briggs in mine, you could see that the valve spring retainers had eaten themselves into the aluminum block. The breathers were crumbled junk and the front seal had slipped inward. It ran good except for the oil it pushed into the carb. It might have ran a good while w...

Hi Joey. I have a 582. The Briggs breathers were all broke up inside and the front seal had slipped inside. Valve springs had wore into aluminum block. It now has a m-18 out of a Sears with a 1" pto. That electric pto off that Briggs will bolt right to that m-18. Looks like you have a collection lik...

Re: 582 repower

No adapter, use an old style drive plate. Might have to shim or get longer drive shaft. My Sears mag 18 had a 2 hole hub but not the same as Briggs. I drilled 2 holes in an old style drive plate and had to add some shims. Been a long time hard to remember. Mike An edit, might be some 1806 parts.

Hello, i don't know about a 1440, but a mag 18 out of a Sears/Craftsman will work nice. The pto off the Briggs will bolt right on that Mag 18. They both have 1" pto shafts. Mike

Hi John i don't know if your 1450 is like my 169 but i had to pull the gas tank and go in there. I didn't have pins and used a small screw with a nut. First one came apart, next one still holding. Hey Ken, i took a shifter/cup from a 1989 1050 and put in the old style base.Totally different base on a 1050 but shift/cup is the same. That 16 tooth set of gears i got from you went into a cast trans and into that 1050. Wasn't my plans for them but that 1050 needed a trans and that 10hp liked them...
