Re: wheel weight brackets

...Anyone got any pics ?? 100_3418.JPG 100_3452.JPG These are pics of the body building weights on the tractor, but I have none of the bracket/mechanism that holds them... The bracket from Xtreme Motor Works seems like a great way to go, but I am unsure of the practical/safe length of shaft that co...

Lowering exhaust noise on K-Series

Hello all, My recently refurbished 125 is probably not that much louder than when it was new, but significantly louder than a more modern unit such as my 2185. (I know, it's not a fair comparison...!!) Nonetheless, I would like to significantly reduce the exhaust noise (even though it may only repre...

Hey Paulf,

I noticed in the pics (of your very nice lineup that makes me salivate), that the middle tractor appears to be an early Cub with a mod to add a front diff...??!! (I may not be interpreting what I am seeing correctly though...)

Re: Trunion Repair

Hello all, One of the reasons I joined this forum is because of the excellent discussions such as this thread... It's older, but it's a goldmine! I will now bring this discussion back to the forefront, with a question about an observation I made while trying to repair my trunion. I have noticed in m...

Re: Foot controls??

Is this foot-control assembly used to replace the hydrostat control handle on the dash? (I.e.: Converted a hydrostat left-hand control to a right-foot pedal?) I was looking for a way to do this as a future narrow-frame resto-mod...

Re: 982 and SGTs

This is great info/experience; thanks to all contributors!! :D If I end up buying that 982, I will be sure to post pics here... (Have some time off at the end of the month, so trying to plan a mini-getaway to go see this machine (if still available) that is about an eight hour drive away.) Bye for n...

982 and SGTs

Hello all, As you will see from this post, I am still learning about Cubs... Recently, a 982 with a 60in Haban deck has come up for sale at under $2K, which seems reasonable. (Hard to find ANY mowing machine with 60in deck at less than $3.5K... My preferred 'everyday lawn tractor' would be a diesel ...

Re: 109 hydro

Hello Youngin,

Do a search on this site on 'trunion'; you will find the info you need to understand how the trunion should be, and how the trunion works with the speed control assembly in the dash/console.

Cheers,

Re: Greetings from the Ottawa Valley

I will eventually post a pic history under a new thread not in the Welcome Mat. For anyone interested, I have uploaded restoration progress images in a sub-album of the Gallery. (I hope I am doing this correctly...?) I have put a caption/description for each image, but it does not appear in the sli...

Hello.. I got this 104 last summer and have finally got around to cleaning it up some.
