140 jd

i've got a 140 jd h1,runs ex.no smoke.orig.paint, seat is ripped,nice staight tractor,no damage on hood,deck needs work, has a blade but not the one for it,hyd lift,hydrostat trans.$500 obo. i can email pics. if interested, thanks, Mark tractor is sold. please delete post. Thank You

Tim the smaller pulley is # 126 393 c1, cpe-2 catalog lists it for the newer decks ser# 81742 and higher.

You just have to unbolt the mule drive and move the bolts down to the rear bolt hole on the assbly. instead of the upper one

Bryan, the 1541 has a 18 mag in it that was tagged a 15hp. the 18 mag is an exact fit.

The 2182 used the haban blade, it is black and has 4 springs on blade,is much heavier built. The 54b is the regular ih 54in. blade white with 2 springs.

The first 982's used a # 54b IH blade,the mounting frame and lift assbly are unique to the early 982.

The last hytran i bought was in may,i got a 5 gal. bucket for $64.50 at local cub dealer,guess i should of gotten more if price has jumped that much.

Ken,the 2 bolts that go down through your safety switch plate under your seat,you can take them loose, add washers and bolt them down tight or just install a hitch pin large enough to hold the plate down tight. Mine was the early style dash, no holes for choke or starter,box looked like a factory unit but maybe closed in by good fabber and spot welder many years ago.between myself and owner i bought from can go back to 1965 when he purchased tractor # 4608

My 4 digit rope start orig. had the large battery box,it was closed in on the bottom to be used as a tool carrier from factory. I sold it in feb. so can't get pics.

I broke a plank at chapter 34 plow day and was debateing buying 2x12x8ft treated plank but was worried they won't hold up. My 982 is 1400lbs., what do you think? thanks

Brad, check and make sure your deck belt tensioner pully is working properly and your blades are on tight.

Vince,i did that with my 982 with the cast rear,i sheared the 3/8in. bolts off on one side at FT Allen last year.I drilled out my frame and mount to 1/2in. bolts and fixed that problem,i can pull 12in. plow up to 10in. deep no problem + i get to run my super to plow!

Bryan,my brother and i spent 3 hours mounting my tru-power 26-12-12,we used tire lube,soap,sprayed wheels with silicone,nothing worked,90 lbs. of air standing safe distance with tire in cage popped onto bead. I've never had any knowedge of anything like this, hope never to do this again.

Logan, most times the pin will break in the center leaving the ends to appear good, try looking down through the center of pins toward a light to make sure they are in one piece. if you can't tell try knocking the pin out.

shows how long a day has been, just read my own post,lol..was thinking of eng. oil pressure not hydro. I would pour some hy tran into pump and turn it by hand just to make sure it isn't completely dry on start up.
