hmm, now that's funny. My Granddad who was a Mechanic always taught me to set the spark plugs on Farmall tractor or a 6 cylinder Chevy with a dime. I guess you could call that "trickle down economics" as far as getting fire to the engine LOL  .

Re: Why is this website so dead???

I still hang around mostly just reading, then again Vince has convinced most everyone here that I'm not human just a computer image or something like that (even after he has actually met me). I still enjoy reading what some of the "ole timers" on here post about their cubs and especially when some o...

Re: Bad Luck Or Good Luck

That's why I always put the Landscape box on the 600 Ford we have, it acts sorta like a wheelie bar  and if you hook to the tractor like you are supposed to you always have to go low on the hook up ! And you always need the box for "clean up" when doing a job like that.

He said "I could have swore it was old big daddy" (an elusive probably nearer to 12 pt we have been seeing even as late as this week and on the game cam) . I just said "yeah, I can see how you could mistake a 4 pt. for a twelve, seeing triple I guess" and gave him that beloved SMH as I walked away. ...

Average Weights

Hey Y'all, A little technical question or maybe confirmation of something I am doing. Would y'all agree that the average weight of a typical Lawn Tractor is between 400 and 600 lbs and that a Garden Tractor typically would run between 700 to 1000 lbs depending on whether both are equipped with a dec...

2160 to 2155 swap over

I have a 2160 with a Vanguard 16 that is blowing oil out the top of the engine, other than that nothing else really wrong with the machine, on the other side I have a 2155 with a good Engine and hydro transmission but looks RUFFF cosmetically. I don't really want to tear into the Vanguard and really...

A nice little Z-Force that runs and cuts like a dream. I've always been addicted to the "Yaller" ones and this one fits ...

Okay, looks like Model # *145-664-100* Serial # *874396* Mfg. Date D045G2 . And on these newer CCC Cub Cadets or MTD Cub Cadets I don't have a clue about how to tell model or year from any of that. Also it has a Kohler Command 18 hp Engine, tilt steering, 54inch deck and hydralic lift on the deck. T...

Seems my county, Limestone, and our neighbor to the East, Madison, home of Huntsville, have a tornado bullseye painted on them here lately. We had 70 or so Houses destroyed Friday. Actually the damage missed me on the North, South and East by about 5 miles. Wasn't as bad as last April 27 but it brou...

Yep, one more thing. The 1641 SHOULD have the same engine as the 2160 if I recall correctly ? So why does the 1641 seem like it's much more powerful than the 2160 is/was even on it's best day ? The 2160 is running a 48" deck and the 1641 is running a 54" deck and it just seems there is more hp to th...
