Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
That's it for now.... :) I don't think I'll be selling this anytime soon as I am working on collecting attachments for the 3K series tractors. Other than my original 782 (which I'll never sell) these are all I have and all I want. I've had literally everything Cub made garden tractor wise and these ...

You can also see in the background of the first pic a 3235 I bought without the motor as it has a good rear end in it so I will be able to put my #1 3240 I got from Ray back together like it should be.

Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
So... I was not officially educated as a engineer nor a hydraulics person! With that said my dad didn't raise me stupid, so you all know I tore into this thing to see what was up with why it didn't run. I pulled the pressure hose, stuck it in a 5 gallon bucket and turned the pto on at idle and got n...

Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
Ok so I finally got all the brackets etc needed to hook the pump to the tractor and was able to "run" this weekend... Long story short is it doesn't run. I didn't have time to mess with it much yet and I have some things to try but with the pump turning even at full throttle the tiller part barely s...

Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
BB. I bought a new XT3 GS and it does not have a locking differential, nor does the XT3 GSE, according to the XT brochure, but the XT2 LX46 fabricated deck and the XT2 LX54 fabricated deck has an auto locking diff, and the XT3 GSX has a manual locking diff. Can I come mow your grass? :) You know to...

Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
Something I just learned. Cub still uses this rear end in the new XT3 Garden Tractors. It doesn't appear to have the differential lock, but the part numbers for the right side case match the part number for the right side case in the 3240. So if my theory is right about lack of lock tight or bolts n...

Re: CC 3185/3165 and a 3240 project.
Mark, I was talking to my buddy the other day about copying and offering a full set of decals for these tractors. The process is to take very good pictures of the decals and then he takes the photos to make the decals on printed vinyl. It really helps to take the decals off carefully to give him to ...

Re: I'm blaming this one on BB!!!!
I'll have to check into that. What did you do about the Anniversary decal on the back? Very carefully with a heat gun pealed it off, and then cleaned the gunk off the back with acetone. I then reapplied it with 3M spray adhesive. Worked out pretty well. Also if you want to look up any parts for the...

Re: I'm blaming this one on BB!!!!
I bought a brand new rear fender pan from cub for about 220 bucks from my local dealer. I hated to spend that much money but it was pretty easy to unbolt the old dented one, and install the new one.

I have started taking out the landscape down the sides of my house so once I get all the rock scooped up and the matt picked up I plan to till it up and reseed it so this till may get some use. Where I live currently I don't have much use for a tiller but I like the idea of having one as there have ...

Ask and BB shall receive! :) Thanks to Oak Todd I drove to Jackson TN a couple weekends ago and picked up this tiller. It didn't come with the brackets that attach to the tractor to hold the pump under the tractor so I had to order those. I went to hook it all up today and it appears the brackets th...

Re: I'm blaming this one on BB!!!!
The oil in these from cub is very very expensive. Lots of folks have been using 15w-40 or 20W-50 synthetic motor oil without issue and that's what I used in my rear, so far so good. I was not going to pay the nearly 20 bucks a qt the dealer here wanted..

I compared it to a Cadillac. Power Steering that is effortless, big comfy seat, cup holder, quiet operation, and it rides well.

I sold a bunch of Cubs on Ebay a couple weeks ago leaving me with the (2) 3240's the GT3200 and my ole 782. I plan to sell the GT3200 at some point as well as I really only wanted the snow blower. I also still have the New Holland GT95 garden tractor and I was finally able to find a cat 0 3pt hitch ...

BM evidently so. I did introduce the new one to his brothers. Now that's what a garage should look like! Hmm, I also see some interesting aircraft hanging from the ceiling, looks like a heavy-duty hobby. That's my problem I have too many hobbies... I do enjoy the airplanes though until they crash.....
