Re: 2082 belts
Well the main deck belt is the same, for the drive belt it will depend on the actual clutch on the tractor and what the center pulley size on the deck are. Those were the items that changed. The catch is that both were called out as parts that could be changed depending on which way they were being ...

Re: 2082 belts
There are a couple belts depending on the serial number of the tractor. They are different due to the size of the front clutch and that there are 2 different 60" decks. For the tractors up to serial number 821,059 with the 374 60" deck - The clutch to deck belt is an MTD 954-3023, 5/8" X 94" Kevlar ...

Re: Boom goes the belt !!!
Went over everything. Cannot find anything wrong, I pulled the spindles apart just to be sure that there wasn't something in a bearing and they looked good, Mule has new idlers from last year and are still wearing some paint in the grooves. At the moment I'm still leaning toward it being excessive t...

Boom goes the belt !!!
So over the weekend I decided to try the 54" deck (324) off one of the supers on my GT with the 22 horse in it. Worked pretty good on the regular grass where it was only about 2" long and dry. Doesn't lift the grass very well and doesn't throw it either but I think that's because of the poor blade d...

Re: Rusty pulleys...
That's about what I thought as well. I'm at the moment pulling the 54" deck off my mower tractor, Not sure what occurred yet but it tore a chunk out of the deck belt as nice as if I had split it off with a skiving knife. I'm also tempted to toss the center pulley from the 317 on it and see if it rea...

Re: Gtx 2100 lift trouble
That unit is a short range electric actuator. It uses polarity reversal to move so if it will turn one way but not the other an easy test is to reverse the wires to see if it now extends. If it does the switch is bad. If iy turns but has no power to lift then it's likely internal.

While there are IH and Cub Cadet weights that are "correct" pretty much any of the weights that fir 12" rims will work. I have about three sets and none of them are correct part numbers. My favorite set are actually some plastic craftsman units. At the time you bought shells that you filled yourself...

Re: Cub 1872 electrical issues
This is the wiring for that tractor. From the sound it could be a bad PTO winding. A way to check if it's the PTO is easy, unplug the PTO at the engine. Does the wire still get hot?

In this area the Haban blades are somewhat rare and you always have to fight with the vultures from other states to get them... Dang poachers... Well the blower is waiting to be removed but that's only because I am putting the deck back together and they won't both fit on the bench. I'm hoping there will be enough grass by the middle of next week or so, it hasn't been warm enough to really get it growing yet. Am also going to try out the 54"...

Re: fuse location
I take it you couldn't download the service manual I uploaded in my post? That is the one for that tractor. I see wiring butchered on them all the time, don't think I have bought one yet that wasn't modified. That said I built a new harness for one of my supers with added relays, fuses and ground wi...

Re: fuse location
Tom, It may have been removed if someone rewired the tractor. It is supposed to be in the line that goes to the starter from the meter. The battery positive cable connects to the same post. The idea is that all the power that the charging system puts out goes through the fuse. But if people add thin...

The fuse is in the inline fuse holder on the red wire leading to the ammeter from the starter solenoid. This is the service manual for those machines, it might help.

That's not a bad price for a Super with all the toys with it. The biggest issue with these machines is that people don't understand what they really are. They wee them and thing "Lawnmower" when they are useful for much more and are built far better than most of the junk on the market these days. If...

Re: 1872 wiring question
1872 Wiring.pdf I would agree that it was added. I've added a few grounds to my tractors and on my latest super project it is being wired with everything that used the chassis or frame as a ground now being grounded back to the new fuse block. That includes a new ground to the engine block replacin...

Anyone use Xtreme clutches?
Been looking at a couple of new clutches to see if I can get rid of some slippage. These folks look like they might be a good deal. Machined pulleys, replaceable bearings and look pretty solid. Pricing is pretty good as well. Wondered if anyone has used them or heard god/bad about them.

Re: 7252 cub slow cranking
Try a jump test as well. You can just use jumper cables to bypass the OE ones and then jump the starter solenoid itself like you would on an older vehicle. If it cranks fine that way you have resistance in the wiring. Another fast test would be to measure the voltage from the battery to ground at th...

You can get the same results on the plastic with a heat gun and less chance of damage to the plastic.

Re: Best use for a 147?
I like a single stage in wet sloppy snow or in loose fluffy stuff. The two stage units work good in fluffy to heavier but not wet snow. If it's gotten to the point the snow leaks water when you pack it, the single is the better option, or a blade. What would I put on a 147? Being a hydro I'd look fo...

Re: Cub blower for the first time!
Oh and you asked about idlers for the 450/451 Stens 280-870 is a twin to the factory part, but it needs the inserts that reduce the 17mm bore to 1/2 " and add the spacers like this one. With that style insert the Stens only lacks a hole drilled in it to match the factory 6" part.
