You will NOT be turning hardened steel on the little Atlas. That requires an extremely rigid machine.

Most of the forums I'm on are warm weather activities. ( motorcycles and Cub Cadets) Posting tapers off when it's nice out and becomes more active when weather is bad or cold.

I use SHCS ( socket head cap screws ) on the points cover. The allen wrench holds the screw better than a screwdriver. Always do the bottom screw first.

Sounds like a timing problem to me. On my 122 and 125 ( K-301 ), there is an opening where I view a "S" (iirc) with a timing light. It's on the starter/generator side of the engine. Is yours the same?
