Re: Broken creeper gear

Looking at buying an older cub, seller states it runs, but creeper is broken. Could this be as simple as a broken roll pin on the input shaft or something internal. If the spirol pin hole is all wallowed out, I can weld, turn to the correct diameter and put a new hole in it. Here's one that I fixed...

Congrats on your own snow removal machine  One suggestion to keep you nice and toasty. Wear a full face motorcycle helmet. Yes I am completely serious. I wear mine and now only does it keep the snow off your face, you stay nice and toasty since heat isn't lost thru your head. Personally I pref...

The claw thing was used to pick up ice to make it easy to carry. You would put the ice in your icebox ( before refrigerators became common )

Jess, Look for wear on the ways ( also gouges, grind mark or other impact areas ). Make sure everything moves freely ( as in not rusted fast ). If you can power it up, listen for nearing noises and make sure the power feed works. Pictures of the lathe would help a lot. I can be more specific if I kn...

Re: New to me 30 ton press. Any opinions on hydraulics?

I would go for the air over hydraulics. Makes life much easier. We just had an "incident" at work. "Bob" was using the press to straighten a weldment and didn't have it pressing straight down. He got "zapped" in the head and then it hit his hand. He got lucky and wasn't hurt too bad but did get stit...

A couple weeks ago I purchased an old Racine power hacksaw off Craigslist. I also located a older 1-1/2 hp Wagner motor too. Re: 125 Front PTO

I suggest purchasing a good used or rebuilt PTO. The center button wore so far the fingers were thinned. The PTO on your Narrow Frame 125 is the original style which uses one spring. I have two 125 myself and both have WF PTO's with double springs. They can be identified by the six round "stems" on ...

Triple drilled rear lift pin for rear lift casting. I drill these so they can be positioned with the holes vertical or horizontal. I doubt you'd need heat for those. Pry them straight with a good size adjustable wrench, pipe wrench, small pipe to slide over it, vice grips, channel locks... any of those would probably work. All I want to add to Kevin's good suggestion is holding it in a vise or clamped to a table/workbench so y...
