Re: I had a bad day , a mouse killed my truck .

I agree with Jim, you need to make sure this A/C flap isn't mouse related. 3 years ago I traded an 05 Malibu in because the 7th problem relating to shorted wiring showed up two weeks after my extended warranty period was up...the estimate was $3100.00 and they actually said they still weren't sure i...

That Mini-Beep is even neater than the big one. Kinda reminds me of a "Watchamacallit" ( well it articulates too ;) ) Love that front mounted deck...anybody know of something like that deck for Cubs :?:

Re: Continuous Thread Shooting The Breeze, Just Like Old Tim

After the 3 day rain I loaded up the 149 w/replicated International #40 and went to my son's and our rental property. Paint has cured well over a month so it's time to put it to work. Tractor and implement simply blew my mind how they worked together and NEVER spun out with a box load of gravel. I'...

I'm sorry for your loss and frustration. I understand your anger. I too have found bad apples at auctions, work, neighborhoods, in family, and even at church. I have learned to let it go. Which is much easier said than done. Holding on to the anger will eat us up (high blood pressure etc.) and doesn...

Re: Frozen Engine

I too have a project like this, so I am very interested in the responses. I was told by an "old-timer"to just fill the cylinders up with ATF and wait. I have a Packard V-8 that is soaking currently. I once broke a Honda 2 cylinder (aluminum pistons) free by putting "Liquid Wrench" in liquid form in ...

Nice  Thanks for sharing. I've always liked the "B" model...somehow it is what I've always thought trucks should look like. I'd forgotten about the Jr's. haven't seen one of those in years.

Re: "Knocker" 108

Yeah, too lean and it melted part of the piston. Is that near the exhaust valve by chance? Never re-use an aluminum connecting rod; they have a finite life span. For the price of a new one it's not worth taking a gamble on the old one lasting. Went back and looked at the photo from when I had just ...

Glad to hear it wasn't worse. Did you get up to National Pike? I'm putting photos from Sat in my album. One of my sons and I went. Met some nice people and had a great time. Still would like to find a plow day this fall that I can afford to drive to. (o' ya' that deserves another)

Re: "Knocker" 108

Got some more time in the barn tonight. Continued on the "knocker" I agree the crank looks like it is saveable. The cylinder wall looks like a quick hone and it will be o.k. The piston though, not so lucky. Photo attached. :?: I need to see more photos of cams or shop manual to determine about that ...

Hi Scott,
Yes, I did say Hay! to y'all. It was great to put some faces to names. I'm the guy from south of Cambridge (Rt 77 & RT 70 ) Ohio with a number of Ford granny gear 4spds. ;) I have a bunch more photos too, but I have to get the camera back from the kids.

National Pike Steam Show 8-13-2011

We went to the National Pike show today, my first time, what a blast !! Took lots of photos, I'll try to put them in my album area. Saw things I've never seen before and saw some that I haven't seen since I was just a pup. Met some nice folks, had a really good time.

"Knocker" 108

Needed some barn time after mandatory tolerance training today at work... 4 more days of it, UGH! (ya got to be kidding) Anyway the "knocker" had to come out and I was curious so I took a peek. The rod bolts were working loose which apparently allowed some scoring and galling. Had to e...

Sure was nice to meet you and your family. I too wish we could have spent more time. I would have loved pulling up some cardboard and just laying down beside the "whatchamacallit" and just absorbing the way it is put together. That has to be one of the neatest units I've ever seen. I'm guessing that...
