Re: Why is this website so dead???

Well, I don't know that I have anything to say....other than I started with a new company the Monday after I picked up some new to me toys from Jess and have been on overlapping 14 hour shifts 7 days a week until last Friday. So right now I may have a couple nights that I can check in before collaps...

Re: cutting grass on an original

Nice. Think about it, 50 plus years, your repairs and it still works well :!: I'm pretty sure the modern ones won't ever make it that far. I love what you have done with the Cub but, if I could say, Please be careful mowing around the kids. I know I'm an old fart, and also a safety officer by day, a...

James, Welcome to the forum :!: Since the engine is out and you mentioned looking for new engine isolators you may want to do the upgrade to the engine mounting rails. "QL engine cradle upgrade" is a series of posts on this site that may prove helpful. There are some that don't fully appreciate the ...

Re: Private Cub Cadet collection auction

The scraper guy purchased all the remaining hoods, around 15 or so for something like $20 for all and turned around and sold them for $10 each to anyone wanting one. I don't know why those wanting one didn't get in on the original bid for them :?: He ended up scraping what was left. The scraper guy...

Just slap me now, I went and looked at manuals and I agree this actually created more slippage than the normal set up would have.

Re: Retiring the 1450 loader cub

One day I'm gonna have to sit on a 982 just get a feel for the difference. 1) Will you have to fabricate a new undercarriage for the 982 ? 2) On full size tractors the shorter chassis tractors with a loader make a more maneuverable unit. All around "cool factor" I'd vote for the 982, squeezing into ...

Prayers really needed for strength for a local gals family. I'm really having a hard time even writing this...one of my former students was murdered this last week apparently on the 27th. Yep, my neighbors on both sides laughed when I went to KY to get my old Cub from Jess 3 winters back, but it has done more work (grass, snow and 2 plow days, even though it does smoke a little more on start up) BUT it has already outlived the box store wonders they bought over the same time at less ...
