Re: Clutch

You never said what model?
Is it possible the wrong arm is being used? Did you rebuild or buy a rebuilt assembly? Are the washers all in the correct locations per the manual for your model?

Re: LTX 1050 pto clutch bolt wont turn

Welcome !
I’m not that familiar with the new Home Depot models(new to most here is newer then 2000).

Generally it would be a right hand thread bolt, often times the factory uses a dab of lock tight to keep it from moving.

Re: Cub Cadet Electrical System

Blue is in the wrong spot, L should have nothing on it. I believe this is your issue. Yellow and grey are correct. The amp gauge is correct, unless it is reversed witch would show a negative charge once running. Keep us posted

Re: Cub Cadet Electrical System

Welcome! I would start by checking the voltage regulator. Likely the grey and blue wires are not correct, it’s not the location on the side of the regulator, it’s the letter on the terminal. Not all replacements are the same. It’s possible your old one had bad contacts inside, the new one in the wor...

Propane generator?

Way off topic but hopefully someone has experience. We had a stom come though and lost power last night. We have a whole house generator, it’s a genarac with there own engine. (Briggs vanguard clone). The last few times we’ve needed it, it seamed to be hard starting. It would crank a bunch and final...

Looking good!
I have a deal In he works to buy back a 1050 I had owned a few years ago. It will help complete my “small block” collection. I have all the 7’s and 8’s a friend has a 1340 for me so this the last of the smallest of each series.
After that, who knows what I’ll end up with!

Steve Why not go straight to cub? The web site is kinda a pain but once you figure it out not bad. Most parts are about 2-4 days out and after 100$ free shipping! As for belts I’m a ebay shopper and have has good results aftermarket. I keep a few sizes. Kohler parts again eBay, whatever dealer has t...

Re: 129 =Time for a new Engine

Can’t say anything about a custom engine. The 14’s are the same base block as a 10/12. The flywheel does not appear to come with the engine in your link. Of corse the shroud needs to be changed with the flywheel. The flywheel is bigger on the 14/16’s. The muffler and the carb is also bigger on the 1...

Welcome!
No latches on a 1450, just pull up! There is a spring steel latch of sorts at the back of the hood under the dash. So pull up at the back!

Your correct about the lug location.
I hadn’t thought about the gear count.
It’s on the bench, but has not been fixed.
I have not ordered a starter yet.

M18 vs M20 starters

Hard to know for sure but looking for advice. About 8 years ago I bought a 2082 project tractor for a friend. He got itngoing and ran it for some time as a weekly mower. The starter went and he bought a 2182 and the 2082 sat. He put about 4 hours on it in the 8 years. It needed a seat and the classi...

I don’t see the “plates” that bolt to the frame, if you have a 60” deck you should have these already. I think 450 is a fair price especially the Scarcity of cubs in Washington state.

I think the 982 fire tractor was red power 2007 at Bloomsburg. Frame is from a 2082 I bought with no engine or tires. Funny part is I bought that 2082 around 2012? I just bought the tires/rims in February and deck from the same guy last week! I’ve been watching Dave’s projects for years now, this on...

I have a 2082 I’m planing on selling soon, I’m thinking 1500 as a starting price, it has a 54” deck. If I included a 551 blower I’d want a bit more, your not far off. I’m guessing it has a 3pt? Mine does not.

Rich Manuals are a free download from here on the site! Up top to the drop down and then downloads, in the MTD section you’ll find owners manal and a service manual s/n 737000 and up. I would change the oil and oil filter, gas filter wouldn’t hurt, air filter as needed, at least blow it out with com...

Sounds like someone was having starting issues and added a ground. It’s not a bad idea, I never liked how the ground went to the frame and not to the engine block. If it’s a worker, I would go to the engine mounting bolt and run it like that.

Your picture is the IH. NArrow frame spring assist it will work on the 147.

Re: Best use for a 147?

Do you have a rear sleeve hitch? If so then yes it will work. If you do not have the sleeve hitch option then, no it will not work. Due to the way the rock shaft works, it will assist all attachments front mid rear.
