what is it with the 782's? why does everyone like them? They seem pricey. Are they just newer yet, smoother? Whats the story with the series 1 KT17? is it the same crapper that JD put in the 317?

Re: Deck Compatibility
I only asked this question because I feel that the "A" decks are harder to find and more worn than say a newer model. Im tired of constantly messing with all my 42" decks. non of the spindles seem to be them same and all seem to be molested in one way or another. I still like them, just wanted to ge...

dremel and chisel it is!! yes I tried turning it both ways. also the bearing collar is slide up to the collar on the basket pulley. this I have never seen, so maybe it has bonded itself to that. I have loosened the set screws in basket pulley hoping that would help let it move but I don't see that h...

Dirty Stinkin PTO Clutch!!
This isn't my first rodeo when it comes to this area of the cub cadets. I got the actual clutch off its just the bearing collar is froze. Been soaked in PB and even tried the fire wrench as a last resort. Solid as a rock. I even broke my puller trying to pull the bearing off without collar moving. i...

Does anyone know the clutch spring size(the big spring) thats on the drive shaft? Need to know the length and a compression load thats fairly simialr to stock. A little bit heavier wont hurt. What do most folks use? I was going to get something thru mcmaster.

Your first cub cadet
Anyone want to share their story of their first cub cadet and how you got into them. I grew up cutting grass with a 70 that had a k301 in it and 38" cast end deck. It took forever to cut our 1 acre yard. Back then i hated it, loud, rough, and took forever. 2008: I was in need a "good" lawn mower bec...
